I only learned about the pet med called WormShield being recalled because it popped up on Google Trends.
This is one of those “ground up” stories, where the people searching for why WormShield was recalled — out of deep concern for the pets they gave the WormShield to in hopes of preventing heart worm, no doubt — have brought it to the light.
And in fact there are no news reports showing up in Google Trends about the WormShield recall, but the customers commenting in Yahoo Answers say they received a call about the WormShield recall — and learned from some of their vets that the WormShield recall was voluntary, and that it wasn’t strong enough to protect certain sized larger dogs.

I got a call from Banfield, and there is a recall, as stated above, I reside in Daytona Beach, Florida, and have the product which has been recalled, Doc goes in on Monday for testing!!! We shall see.
Banfield has been calling customers of the Wormshield product due to a recall. The recall is due to a chance that the medicine’s potency will not last until the expiration date. They will refund your money for the entire box or give you a new box. If you have nto been called about Worm Shield, you can call Banfield up with your lot number and they can inform you whether or not you can get your refund or replacement.
