Watch Unsung Online – TVOne Unsung Show About DeBarge, Melba Moore, Florence of The Supremes, Shalamar, Phyllis Hyman, The Clark Sisters,Minnie Ripperton and Other Black Groups Unsung…

One of my favorite shows to watch is Unsung, a highly-acclaimed show on TVOne that shows (usually tragic or sad) stories of black artists and groups that for some reason or another didn’t make it as high as you’d think they would have based on their talent. Here’s some of the Unsung show about DeBarge — talking about their parents interracial marriage, plus they interview James DeBarge, Janet Jackson’s first husband — who admits to being a drug addict and that Janet stayed with him thru that:

Watch more Unsung videos online here at TVOne’s website…

They’ve got Shalmar’s story and The Supremes and more Unsung videos up here at TVOne’s video page. And that’s where they’ve got The Clark Sisters video about some tragedy that happened — I didn’t watch that one yet.

But I did see the Unsung show about Phyllis Hyman, who tragically killed herself — I still remember when that happened. And they showed a snippet of Angela Bofil’s album cover; she was so pretty like Phyllis Hyman, and my sister and I loved her.

They also did Minnie Ripperton’s story (search for these on YouTube if you can’t find them on TVOne’s site, hopefully they are up online) and it was so sad how much people cried and missed her.

They’ve also got more Unsung videos up on their YouTube channel here…
