Still possible to make money writing online for Examiner.com after site redesign
Examiner.com recently did a big website redesign — one where I’ve been mainly staying out of the forum fray about, and instead figuring out how to adapt to the changes on Examiner.com as they are now.
Actually, I’ve been spending a lot of great time working on a YouTube channel for church and learning video editing skills and the like.
So I am hoping Examiner.com will loosen their grip on the code a little and a least let us post all types of videos (not just YouTube) that we were able to before — but either way, thank God it is still a viable means of making money, Lord willing.
This article about Glenn Beck’s heated rally attendance numbers helped land me in the #5 spot as Christian TV Examiner in the list of Top Examiners in Arts & Entertainment.
With 15,731 pageviews, that particular channel brought in $115.42 for Sunday.
Which is a trip, because my Christian TV channel is making it all over Google News while I’m praying the Cleveland Pop Culture one catches up.
Making it into a prominent Google News position on a heated topic can — like favor from heaven akin to fresh manna or showers of rain — bring in the views for days and days.
But I don’t think I’ve ever gotten the 222 comments like that Glenn Beck article linked-to above drew.
Ah, like never before, indeed!
And when I peruse Google Trends’ topics, I see lots of other writers’ Examiner.com pieces making it into good Google News spots – so for all the complaining of some folks (a portion of it deservedly so), I see that the time would be better spent crafting articles and studying the ones that make it into Google News and try to play around with the search terms in Google that brought them there.
Of course, we have to guess about things like that by typing in “Glenn Beck rally numbers” and the like, until Examiner.com gives us some individual article stat numbers.
Praise God for jobs and food. And a billion other things. Write on.

Yes! I agree…and you’re working smart on Examiner as am I because many are spending hours on the forums complaining. I’ve made a high of 9400$ in a month to a low of $4700 in my 14 mos there and average in the mid $5K mostly because I work at it and keep out of the messy forums. The new redesign is “OK” but lacking a lot of features that help us put out better articles but I’m still getting in Google News 85-90% of the time.
Rock on, woman! You’re great.
At least the changes are still for the good and didn’t do so much damage. Praise God indeed for what you have accomplished.
