Skechers Shape Up Shoes Getting Good Reviews

★★★ Sketchers Shape Ups – Here’s Skechers Shape Up Shoes for Women, Men, Reviews, Price, Where to Buy Sketchers Shape-Up Shoes and More…

I’m watching Wheel of Fortune, and that’s where I saw an ad for Skechers Women’s Shape Ups – Sleek Fit Fitness Mary Jane Sneaker for the first time ever.

I’ve heard of shape-up shoes before, like the Fit Flops and MBT Shape Up shoes, but I didn’t know a company as popular as Sketchers made any get-in-shape exercise shoes till I just saw the commercial showing a woman walking in comfort.

Do the Sketchers Shape-Up Shoes Really Work? I Guess if You Work Them, They Do…But Here are Customer Reviews

…of the Sketchers’ shape up shoes to read for yourself here, with people who’ve actually bought the Sketchers Shape Up shoes saying they like them better than MBT, mostly. They are about 11 reviews as of this writing, so we’ll see if the positive reviews of the Skechers shape-up exercise shoes for women grow.

★★★ The Sketchers Shape-Up for Men Shoes Also Generating a Lot of Interest…

I see searches coming in for the Sketcher’s shape up shoes for men, too — after all, men like getting in shape — so I hunted down these Skechers Men’s Shape Ups Lace Up, priced at $110 right now on Amazon.

Those Sketchers shape ups for men running? walking shoes — I guess you can run in them, huh? — have no customer reviews yet, but hopefully they are as well-liked as the ones for women.

I’m really wanting a pair of these shoes to walk around in. I haven’t been to the gym in maybe two weeks, and I’d like to get a pair of these for the fall and winter to just walk around in and get my thighs in better shape without really thinking about it.

People Love the Sketchers Shape-Up Shoes Price of Around $99 and Up Mostly…

…which is cheaper than the MBT or other shoes.

So we’ll see how the sales go.

In the meantime, a whole lot of people are searching for all things Sketchers and Skechers Shape Up shoes each day:

I JUST PURCHASED SKETCHERS SHAPE UP AND MY NEIGHBOR INFORMED ME THAT THERE WERE MANY BACK PROBLEMS OCCURING FROM THESE SHOES. IS THIS CORRECT? I HAVE A BACK PROBLEM AND CAN’T MAKE IT WORSE. PLEASE INFORM ME IF THIS IS CORRECT.THANKS

Tracy  on September 19th, 2009

Rita,

I highly doubt it, if anything these shoes will help to alleviate bakc problems. I know mine feels better and overall I feel “more fit”.

I would say try it for yourself, too many people form an opinion prematurely…Has your ‘neighbor’ tried these?

Paula Mooney  on September 20th, 2009

I still want to buy some…will update everyone when I do

luv  on September 26th, 2009

i bought the skeechers and love them…how can they cause a back issue? I have lower back issues and have been walking twice a day, no problems. I didn’t work up, like they suggest doing, maybe those directions are for people who have not been active. I am wearing them in the house all day as well, while walking around, as much as possible..they are so comfortable, unreal. Too new to say if any results. At the store I purchased them from, one of the sales clerks claimed she had lost almost 15 lbs in one month just wearing them to work, the walk all day. Good luck, worth the try. Just listen to your body and you will know if you are having issues, don’t listen to negative comments from others..:)

fajitaanita  on September 28th, 2009

I am interested in buying some, is the price around 100 or can you find them cheaper? I heard they help if you have lumbar problems. Someone let me know. thx

speakvic  on October 4th, 2009

I have been looking for the right shoe for about 1 1/2 years as I work on concrete and my feet and legs were killing me every night when I got home. I tried so many different types of shoes and to no avail, spent alot of money, but, no luck. I heard that the MBT shoe were the ones!!! I was so excited….I went to the local shoe shop the purchase some and wow!!! I was shocked at the price! About $ 250.00 a pair, and after all of the failures in the past, I just wasn’t going to give it a try. On our way out my husband noticed a Finish Line store with the Shape up Sketcher, and said, that these looked like the MBT but about $150.00 less. So, I tried them on and they felt like the same feeling of the MBT. So, I bought them, I have been wearing them for about 3 months now and NO aching feet anymore!!! I highly recommend these shoes for the working person that stands and walks on concrete all day. My next purchase will be the Black Mary Janes as they have more class to them as I work in the Retail business. I think these shoes are the bomb!

speakvic  on October 4th, 2009

By the way, I had L4-L5 lumbar fusion in Jan. 2009 and these shoes have not made my back hurt at all.

niamh bowen  on October 20th, 2009

Just bought them two days ago, have to say find them a little difficult to get used to, just came home and wanted to take them off for a break straightaway, walked about 40 minutes in them today. Am interested to know if you can run in them? Anyone any experience?

Kat  on October 20th, 2009

brenda  on November 8th, 2009

i got mine yesterday, after much thought.they are a bit pricie for the average woman in this economy. i love them , after years of working on my feet, they are like walking on a cloud….

ljvinson  on November 10th, 2009

I love these shoes!! They feel like walking on air, I dont want to take them off. I just wore them to an event that required lots of steps and walking. I felt the burn in my legs and calfs are still a little sore, but that is GREAT..

vicki  on November 19th, 2009

I WAS VERY HESITANT TO PURCHASE THESE SHOES BECAUSE I AM 60 YEARS OLD AND HAVE ARTHRITIS. BUT THEY TURNED OUT TO BE THE BEST SHOES I HAVE EVER OWNED. IT IS TRUE, YOU FEEL AS IF YOU ARE WALKING ON A CLOUD. I WOULD RECOMMEND THEM HIGHLY TO EVERYONE.

unique  on December 24th, 2009

I love my shapeups. I was in a car wreack 3 years ago, and I’ve had constant knee pain in my left knee.
Well, I work standing alot, and these shoes have been a God Send. Been wearing them for 2 weeks.
I’ve lost 7lbs. And my knee has not given me any trouble.

RlynnJacob  on December 26th, 2009

I just bought my Sketchers a few days ago. I sell cars, so I needed something on the dressy side. I went to Sears.com and found Sketchers shape up in a black leather casual shoe. I love them. They are so comfortable. My back pain has not acted up yet. I have noticed a change in my posture when walking. I will leave a better review in a month

dolfin2774  on December 27th, 2009

I REALLY want a pair of shape ups but I’m a female and wear a size 12. In the past I’ve been able to wear mens shoes without any problems, SO I’d REALLY like to know if I could get a pair of mens shape ups, and as far as how the shoe works, is there a difference between mens & womens? THANK YOU!
dolfin2774@gmail.com

Darkwing  on December 27th, 2009

I’m seriously considering buying these shoes since the winter had reduced the amount of exercise I get. I do have a question though, Can you jog in these shoes or are they built for “walking in” only? If I jog in these shoes will they give me an equal or better work out as when you walk in them?
If anyone can help…would love to hear!

Paula Mooney  on December 27th, 2009

does amazon have any in size 12? i wear a size 11 and bought mine via amazon and i like them. i even wear them in the snow. i like how tall they are

Paula Mooney  on December 27th, 2009

i’m wonder if you can run in them, too. i want you to stay safe. i’ve only walked in mine pretty much

Emyllis  on January 11th, 2010

I just got these 3 days ago. Ive probably only worn them an accumulative 3hrs but boy can I feel it. I love these shoes. Even if they dont directly lead to any weight loss or toning, they will in a round about way simply because they make me want to go walking. The only down side I have seen thus far is numbness in my left foot and toes along with some seriously noticeable lower back pain. I have no doubts this is simply because they really do force you to improve your posture and mine is probably pretty bad. I should also state that I do have scoliosis in the form of an ‘S’ shaped curve of my spine. Im wondering if maybe these shoes should not be used for individuals with this issue, or if maybe they should be worn less frequently. Either way, Im going to continue using them in hopes that these issues soon subside. I’ll return with an update in a month or so.

dgalante  on January 11th, 2010

Do not buy these they are not ergonomically incorrect and my back is worse
i have x-rays to prove it …if you know of anyone who this has happened to email or respond to this thanks

Megzie  on January 14th, 2010

I just got my shape-ups about a week and a half ago to start a new walking/diet regimen. So far, this is what I’ve noticed:
Lower back pain – GONE
Foot pain when walking – GONE
Knee Pain – GONE
I get twitching and a GOOD burning feeling (like I just worked that muscle group HARD) in the backs of my calves and thighs.

Only downside I’ve noticed is after a long distance (2 miles or so) my feet are kind of numb. I guess that’s normal until you get used to walking in them, so I’ve read. I would say if you’re interested in running in them, get REALLY used to walking in them first. The soles are squishy so if you have poor balance, you could definitely hurt yourself if you’re not ready to run in them. All in all, I love them. With diest and exercise changes, I’ve already lost 3 pounds in a week.

rasmine  on January 17th, 2010

I am interested in buying a pair. Just tried on the MBT version.
Does anyone know if there is a difference between
these rather high priced shoes and the lesser price Sketchers?

bryansda  on January 19th, 2010

I am both an MBT and Shape Up owner and like both.

The MBT’s have a much firmer sole and are great for walking. I’m quite heavy and the MBT’s bothered my feet when I wore them for everyday tasks around the house or shopping, stop or just stand.

The Shape Ups have filled the void for the everyday wear. The soles are much softer than the MBT’s and I can stop and/or stand with no problems.

I have found that both brands run short on me and I had to get a half size larger in the MBT and a full size in the Shape Up.

I bought the curved bottom shoes to take pressure off of my knees, hips and lower back for which, for me, they have worked great. I have also had a flare up of Plantar Fasciitis in the past, but with these shoes, Burks and Crocs have not had another.

peaches9778  on January 21st, 2010

I love this shoes! I have drop foot and have to wear an AFO brace, along with having spinal problems. Its been amazing..can finally walk now..up straight, with hardly any pain in my spine or leg or anything..they are the best investment I’ve ever made!! loving them!

Mandi  on January 30th, 2010

I LOVE my Skechers Shape Ups. I’ve had mine since Christmas and already notice a huge difference in my legs and my back pain. I have been writing a weekly review on my blog, and I am so impressed with the results in just one month. I can’t wait to see what happens in another month. I wear mine almost every day!

GARRY FULKERSON  on February 1st, 2010

I WEAR CUSTOM ORTHODICS FOR PLANTAR FASCITIS AND WAS WONDERING IF THEY WOULD WORK IN THE NEW SHAPE UPS

bryansda  on February 2nd, 2010

Garry, I bet you wouldn’t need the orthodics with the Shape Ups.

dgalante  on February 17th, 2010

has anyone worn them everyday since Oct 2009 or July 2009?

Rudy  on February 25th, 2010

I have had my sketchers for almost 7 months now, and have to say that I have lost weight, bettered my posture and have had a huge decrease in daily heal and hip pain. After 10 years of daily pain, I have just recently returned to jogging. Now I don’t use the shape ups to jog in, but at the end of the work day I don’t feel like just getting of my feet and resting my tired old dogs (feet). I can actually put on my running shoes and go to the gym. I have to say that since I bought my shape-ups, my health and fitness level has been so noticeable that now several others at my work wear shape-ups daily.

MM  on March 9th, 2010

I received these shoes for Valentine ’s Day and I was excited. I wore the shoes for 4 hours that day and the next day my back began to hurt. I could barely walk for 2 weeks and I am still in a lot of pain. I don’t know if I will wear these shoes again, but I am hoping the pain will go away, because my lower back really hurts. Let me point out that I did not follow the direction or watch the DVD so I can’t blame the shoes! If you get the shoes, follow the directions very closely!

Paula Mooney  on March 9th, 2010

I finally wore mine again after some time. One thing I remember them saying is to make sure you bend your knees and don’t lock them like you’re wearing regular gym shoes.

So far, so good with me. I hope your back gets better. The video shows like the rolling action that we should adopt when wearing the shape-up shoes.

freeb  on March 11th, 2010

which has the higher heel – the MBT or the shapers ?

and is amazon still cheapest place to buy ?[I am in Australia]

freeb  on March 11th, 2010

Oh – I have had 1 hip replacement – any problem with that?

Debi  on March 14th, 2010

I am considering purchasing the sketchers shape ups. I have severe scoliosis with restrictive lung disease due to my severe curve of the spine. I am concerned that the shape ups will cause me more back pain. Does anyone out there have severe scoliosis that has worn the shape ups. I do not want to make my pain worse! I would appreciate any comments.

Skacorekid  on March 14th, 2010

I bought a pair of Shape-ups a week ago. I am a Barber so I stand on my feet all day. For the past three days, I have developed and extreme pain in my lower back. I am only 25 and it is excruciating. I want to believe it is from poor posture or just bad shoes that I have been wearing all my life. Does anyone know or have any comment on this?

Phyllis  on March 15th, 2010

I have had sketchers for almost 1 month. I found them wonderful at first. I watched the video and walk heel to toe looking straight ahead as instructed. I have slight scholiosis but it has never been a problem before. I walked 3 hours straight one day and usually walk a mile at least every other day. I have suddenly developed serious lower back pain. It has been worse the last day or two. I have decided to stop wearing them for now. I should also mention that I have flat feet so I wear my custom inserts in the shoes
Anyone else suddenly develop lower back pain after weeks of wearing shape ups?

Allen  on March 15th, 2010

Can you jog in Shape Ups? They are so comfortable to walk in I was wondering if jogging would be the same.

Pat S  on March 22nd, 2010

I also have developed lower back pain that I have NEVER had before. Had the shape ups for about a month now, I like the way the shoes make my legs feel even tho they get very tiring after a time. haven’t tried them power walking, just around the house. how can you tell if they shoes are correcting a posture issue and not causing damage. does the back pain eventually go away or should I give up on these expensive shoes?

LAB  on March 23rd, 2010

I have horrendous lower back pain too, that I’ve never had. I finally googled “Skechers shape-ups lower back pain” to find out if others were having it and I was led here. I’m in great shape and I’d been loving these for my plantar fascia and overall fitness, but I’m convinced they are causing my pain. It is horrible and then it gets worse when I play tennis or work out. I don’t know what to do, but for now I’ve stopped wearing mine.

Phyllis  on March 23rd, 2010

My back pain went away after I stopped wearing them and stayed in bed for about 3 days. The pain completely went away and I wore my Shape Ups again just doing errands and not power walking like I did before. My back pain came back although not as severe. I do not want to give up on these shoes but I may have to…

gina  on March 25th, 2010

At first I loved them. Now I can not walk. My heels are so painful I think I may have done permanent damage to them.

Carol Lambdin  on March 30th, 2010

I am returning a pair to Skechers for inspection. I love the shoes but noticed after only 4 months of wearing them that the thickest part of the sole looks like the rubber is deteriorating and has a ton of fine cracks. Customer service says this is normal, but it looks like a breakdown of the materials to me. So off they go for 4 to 6 weeks. Anyone else notice this problem? Also, they squish when you get them damp.

tmiller62  on April 2nd, 2010

Should you wear the shape ups if you have had hip replacement surgery?

jg2448  on April 5th, 2010

I wore the Shape-Ups for a 3 mile Cancer walk and since then, my lower back and buttocks are extremely sore; especially when sitting. I have been in severe pain for the past week and can only attribute it to wearing those shoes in the walk. I was wondering if others have experienced this problem. Originally, I thought they were great and had only worn them once before.

Swedutch  on April 8th, 2010

I bought my Shape-Ups 2 weeks ago. I am a dog groomer and stand on my feet all day long. The first week was awesome (like walking on a cloud) but at the end of the second week I started experiencing lower back pain. I wore them one more time the next week and the back pain got even worse. I still had my receipt and took them back and exchanged them for some good NB shoes. I know 2 other people personally that have experienced lower back pain also. I am also flat footed so I guess they’re not for everyone!

nrvptl  on April 10th, 2010

Here is my experience on these shape ups. I have been suffering from Plantar fasciitis for a long long time. Have spent tons of money on insoles, doctors visits and pain killers until I got these shoes. In two days Pain GONE. No more pain while walking wearing these shoes.

Ali  on April 10th, 2010

I have flat feet. I just purchased the shoes today and loved how they felt so soft and bouncy. But now my lower back hurts after wearing them for only 20 minutes. I feel its probably the shoes. what a waist of $100

Ali  on April 10th, 2010

sorry WASTE LOL! my backs effecting my brain!

mugzzie  on April 17th, 2010

Best 110 dollars i ever spent….

Mcppo  on April 21st, 2010

I went for a walk with my new shape ups and within 2 days had excrutiating back pain to the point of not being able to walk for a few days. When my lower back seemed to be getting a little better I went for another walk in my skechers. Once again my lower back had flared up and I now am on prednisone trying to reduce the inflammation. I will not wear them anymore. I believe the lower back pain is a real issue for some of us with herniated discs.

sooboo22  on April 22nd, 2010

If you engage your abdominals when you walk, you will protect your lower back.

juliwoo  on April 24th, 2010

I also came to this site searching google for these kinds of rocker shoes and lower back pain. I’m old (63) now but in good shape, have done a lot of ballroom and belly dancing in my life, involving posture/back work, isolations, and yoga-type stuff. I feel good all day on these shoes, but am burdened with lower back pain in the night when I sleep, every day waking up with a real desire not to stand up at all for the pain. It goes away with an aspirin and moving around, then doesn’t come back til I tire in the evening or at night when I sleep. Interesting comment above about people with herniated disc. Maybe we suffer more. I had such a disc last year and completely got rid of that pain through movement and acupuncture. I am pretty sure it came from too much bending over a computer without stretching. So I thought the recent lower back pain was the same thing. Now from the comments I see it’s probably the rockers. When my back got herniated, I never felt a thing: I couldn’t walk one day because my leg muscles had been overused taking up the workload from my injured spine. It was the leg muscles that had to be repaired. THIS TIME: it has been lower back pain the whole time, and no leg muscle pain at all. I’m going to stop wearing the shoes and see if it all goes back to old-age “normal.”

Cheryl  on April 27th, 2010

Add me to the list of those searching for people who had problems with back pain due to these shoes. I bought the Skechers tone-ups (flip-flop type) & within a few days, I was in extreme pain with my back. Only it is my upper back. (RT. side) I do have a herniated disc, (lower lumbar) so not sure if the shoes are contributing to the problem or not. I didn’t realize there were specific instructions on how to walk in these. The box my shoes were in had nothing but “promo” material about the benefits of the shoes. Is there a dvd online? I am going to stop wearing them for a while & see if the shoes are the cause of the pain. I really liked them at first… so much that I even went back & bought another pair. Don’t know whether to hope it’s the shoes or not. ;) Thanks to everyone for sharing their experiences. I will update when I find out.

nhstegink  on May 2nd, 2010

I am looking forward to recieving my pair of sketchers shape ups! I am working as a CNA currently and I have to stand and walk alot. Even in my best pair of Nike tennis shoes my feet, legs and lower back are cramped after 8 hours. I don’t have any experience with the shape ups as of yet, but will return with more information with my experience when I recieve them. I would reccomend for those with back pain to visit a local chiropractor if necessary and only if you have not had any surgeries on your back or hips. I think If I start to feel back pain after use of the Shape Ups this is where I would begin so that I could make sure my back is in alignment and hopefully the Shape Ups will contribute to keeping it there. I will return with my update within a few weeks.

Webby  on May 2nd, 2010

Oh I love this shoes! My hubby bought this for me recently and I couldn’t be happier! It feels like walking on sand.

I normally wear a size 39 but with this shoes i could wear a size smaller. It’s very comfortable. Loving it!

GrammieD  on May 5th, 2010

I have had the Skecher shape ups since Dec. I truly loved them at first, very comfy, followed the DVD and did what was told. Built up to walking 2 miles a day and had muscle pains in my thighs, now I am seeing a chiropractor for lower back problem (2 herniated discs). She advised me not to wear the shoes while under going treatment. Must say, I am alittle leary to start wearing them again as I don’t know if they would help or make my back problems worse. Anyone have experiences like this?

peggy kemp  on May 6th, 2010

I ore my skechers all day most days after I had followed all the rules and gotten used to them and now I havfe excruciationg pain in my groin and thighs…can hardly walk….I stopped wearing them of course and have had the pain for 3-4 days now…am praying it goes away and am madder than hell at skechers for putiing out so harmful a product.

Dave Wilbanks  on May 10th, 2010

Purchased Shape Ups in December ‘09.
Loved them, wore them everyday for 2 months.
Oh my aching back and left hip !!

Chiropractor and Prednisone, thought it could
be Kidney Stones !!

I’m sure it’s the shoes. For some they are wonderful, for others a painful experience.
Not for me . I’m selling mine 10 1/2 on ebay !!

Paiget  on May 14th, 2010

Have had these for about a week. My lower back did start hurting a bit, but I corrected my posture by tucking my hips in and engaging my abs when I walk. And now, no more back pain at all.

Robin  on May 21st, 2010

I bought my Shape Ups about 3 weeks ago. I’ve been walking a couple miles a day in them. As much as I want to be able to wear these, I’m experiencing alot of pain in one of my knees now. The pain goes away after a couple of days not wearing them. I’m so disappointed in my Shape Ups and feel like I just threw $100 away. I don’t think I would recommend them to anyone.

michelleshocked  on May 22nd, 2010

I believe Paiget is right when she says “My lower back did start hurting a bit, but I corrected my posture by tucking my hips in and engaging my abs when I walk. And now, no more back pain at all.”

I wear them every day (for Plantar Facitis heel pain) and i have pain in my lower back and legs but not my heels when I wear them a lot. I truely think it is because I am not in shape in other areas like my stomach and back and legs so I think it isnt the shoes but my body.

lsand  on May 30th, 2010

I purchased sketchers shape-ups sandals around Mother’s day as a gift to myself. And I love wearing them. They are so comfy and make me want to just keep walking. I also like the added height, since I’m short. But recently I’ve had lower back pain, that is manageable during the day with ibuprophen, but worse when sleeping. And getting up in the morning is very painful. I thought maybe it was from over doing it on a bike ride last weekend, but now I’m thinking it might be from the shoes. I hope not because they are the most comfortable shoes I’ve ever had. I don’t know if I should stop wearing them or not. I wear them to work, and walk my dog about 60 minutes a day in them.

fishmamma  on June 3rd, 2010

I bought the Sketcher Shape-Ups about three weeks ago and have horrible back pain after wearing them. I am a nurse, so I stand a lot during the day. Initially, I thought they were great shoes, as my legs weren’t as tired when I got home, but my back pain is more than making up for it. I’m in great shape, suppose to run a half marathon this weekend, but haven’t been able to run at all for past two weeks due to these shoes and my lower back pain.

Val  on June 15th, 2010

I bought Sketchers for my heel problem, the doctor said they were fine. After a few weeks I started getting muscle spasms and painful cramps in my calves at night. I stopped wearing them and the cramps and spasms stopped. Does the manufaturer refund the price if the shoes cause problems?

KLyday  on June 17th, 2010

HAS ANYONE HAD ANY PROBLEMS WITH THE SHOES DEVELOPING A BAD ODOR???!!! I’VE OWNED MINE FOR ABOUT 8 WEEKS NOW… AND NOTICED THAT IN THE PAST 2 WEEKS, THE SHOES (NOT MY FEET OR SOCKS) BEGAN HAVING A STRONG, PUTRID AMMONIA-TYPE SMELL. THE SMELL STAYS WITH THE SHOES… MAKING THE CLOSET SMELL… NOT MY FEET OR SOCKS.
AT FIRST, I SUSPECTED THAT MAYBE A CAT HAD URINATED IN THE CLOSET… BUT NOTICED THAT THE SMELL STARTED “FOLLOWING” ME AROUND AND DISCOVERED THAT IT WAS MY SHOES!!!
ANYONE ELSE??!!

i am really disappointed in these shape up shoes i have had them less then 2 months and they r falling appart what a waste of money the insides of shoes are coming out they not holding up at all

debbie  on July 1st, 2010

I wore these shoes for about a month and starting noticing that my feet were turning inward when I walked. My knees were hurting also. I now have permanent knee pain. Stopped wearing the shoes but it was too late. These shoes should be taken off the market!! Very dangerous.

My skechers are the most comfortable shoes that I have ever owned. I walk up to 5-miles a day on hard surfaces for work, have had a broken tibia, and an ACL replacement in my right leg and a broken left ankle. Walking in these shoes eliminated the trauma to these injuries. I fell much better at the end of the day! I have recommended them to several friends and a few strangers…

oh… yeah they have become odiferous! I’m going to try some odor eaters.

I bought Sketchers Shape Ups almost 1 month ago. Felt a little awkward at first then became pretty comfortable. Tried to work up – wore them gradually more each time I wore them. Last Sunday woke up with back pain bilat. lower lumbar area which progressed to excruciating muscle spasms and severe pain. I couldn’t get up out of bed for 2 days. Finally made it to the chiropractor who also thought I may have kidney stones. Urine negative. SLOWLY getting better. Returning my shoes today. I can’t risk more of that kind of pain!

I bought the tone-up flip flop like sandals and had no instructions in my shoe box….unfortunately I wore them for 6 hours straight and have had back problems ever since. I am experiencing extreme pain in my back, hip and thigh….people please be aware!

I bought the Sketcher work out shoes. I don’t feel like they are any more of a work out than regular tennis shoes. They are comfortable, but when I wear them for a few hours and then take them off, my middle toes cramp like a Charlie Horse. This same thing happens to my friend who wears them. Save your money.

I bought these shoes several months ago and do like them. I didn’t find all their claims to be true but they do give your legs and back a workout. I’ve seen a visible difference.

I have Plantar Facitis heel painand am considering buying apair of shape ups. What are the latest thoughts and feedbacks on these issue and these shoes. I also have some Knee tendon issues

Yes, the shoes can cause back problems. My doctor told me to throw them away on my first visit for back pain. He stated he has had several people come in with back issues after wearing those shoes. I only had them a month and could not bring myself to throw 100.00 dollar shoes away and continued to wear them. I deeply regret it now. I am in sever pain every day and forced to take prescription medicine in order to be half way functional.

I’ve had surgery for plantar fasciitis. These shoes are the only ones I can wear without heel pain. My orthodics fit perfectly in them. I would reccommed them highly. I stand for 8 hours a day at work, my shape ups are great!

My mother was having horrrrrrrible horrible back pains. So bad she was having problems getting out of bed. She had been wearing her shape ups to work, on her feet 8 hours a day. One day she didn’t wear them and her back instantly felt a ton better. After only a few days of not wearing the shape ups, she was free from back pain.

I looked at these today and i loved the way they felt. I have been reading everyone’s reviews and now i am a little scared! Those with backpain, do you have high arches maybe? I’m just asking to see what could be causing it. i suppose i can buy them and if i begin to hurt sell them on ebay! haha

Eeeeuuuuw! Who peed in the closet? Next to the sofa? Under the chair? Nobody. It’s gotta be the shoes! Yup. Shape Ups stink. Literally. This is my second pair and I LOVE the shoes for walking comfort, but obviously after extended wear there’s a chemical malfunction and stink happens…big time. It is my only complaint. The smell didn’t happen with my first pair which I wore out from use, so we’ll see what happens with the two new pairs I’ve bought. Love them, learn to love the stink, I guess

All of these bad reviews on shape ups I’d have to say are coming from the same person, probably the competition. You’re experiencing pain either because you don’t know how to properly walk in them, they aren’t normal tennis shoes people! Or you’ve had such bad posture or walking habits for so many years, and shape ups are trying to correct them. I personally would recommend these shoes to anyone, anytime, anywhere. Best investment in my body. Better than a gym membership.
