I remember the “Impeach Bush” bumper stickers, I’m pretty sure.
Well, today in Ohio, I saw my first “Impeach Obama” bumper sticker displayed proudly and alone on a car in the parking lot of the Giant Eagle where I’d stopped to pick up batteries and lovely fare for my wedding anniversary tomorrow.
I tried to grab a cell phone pic, but didn’t want others to think I was trying to get the license plate in the pic (I wasn’t) but I didn’t, because I unfortunately knew I’d be able to find one online. And find it I did, but I’m not selling those because…seriously?
What does “Impeach Obama” even mean?
I know some are really disappointed with his presidency.
And back when President Clinton was impeached, I thought it was going to be like this big Nixon scandal type of thing — or that we’d see Clinton headed off to jail.
Impeach just sounds so serious — like “indicted” (one of those words that sounds different than it’s spelled to the point where you’ve gotta Google it to confirm) — whereby you hear it and don’t really know the definition until Wikipedia teaches you that…
Impeachment is a formal process in which an official is accused of unlawful activity and the outcome of which, depending on the country and leads to the removal of that official from office or other punishment.
So there.
It could be serious, or not so serious, based on the outcome. We shall see…
I prefer my neighbor’s yard sign instead, when people kept stealing his “Obama 2012″ sign…
…he put up a hand-written poster that read:
No matter how many times you steal my sign, it’s not going to change my vote!
