Oprah Real Hair! Oprah Says She Doesn’t Wear a Weave, and Show a Pic of Her Real Hair

by Paula Mooney on April 24, 2009

Oprah Real Hair Before Pressed No WeaveWell blow me over with a weave track. Oprah just showed a pic of her real hair from Friday’s show on April 24, 2009 — I’m searching high and low for a pic of Oprah’s real, wild, long hair now. Yay! I found the pic — thanks, HuffPo. Now there’s all these comments on HuffPo still debating whether it’s real or not. I believe Oprah, this pic looks like her real, beautiful hair. The other really curly stuff looked like a weave, but her pressed straight hair is really hers I guess.

She said that’s how it looks before it’s pressed. And I commented that Andre her hair-dresser (who gives his tips in Andre Talks Hair!) must be doing an amazing job on Oprah’s hair for it to grow that long.

I wonder if she has a relaxer?

Andre should write another book — or rather, collaborate on another book with the same ghostwriter, Teresa Wiltz. I’ve met her before and that book was great. On every black woman’s shelf just about.

Hmmm…I wonder where my copy went.

I’d love my hair to grow that long.

Another testament that Oprah’s long flat hair is real? Here’s a YouTube video Oprah just released with Andre, talking about that bump-it thing she puts in her hair, and you can see Andre putting it in and her hair looks real.

Like Chris Rock said, “now that’s rich!” Thick and healthy. Looks like she doesn’t shed or pop a strand. Must be nice.

I am not surprised at the length and thickness of Oprah’s hair. However I can almost guarantee you that many times when we see her on the show, the hair is not a weave but it is a wig. Oprah’s hair would have to be dressed daily with heat/rollers, very damaging and she couldn’t maintain a healthy beautiful head of hair with the heat and curling daily…just examine the pictures and the styles;

GALE would way woooseer!!!! because its rare to see darkskin sisters who havent cut out there hair.the same hair they had since birth.All my friends I went to school with and now know this is all mine and they have the same reaction as gale did.some even posted pics they had of me and them back in the day that i forgot about with hair like oprah all ove the place.i looked a hot mess for real.lol..you know,,im going to start posting pics nappy and all to help show people what natural long black nappy hair looks like..before its straighten with the afro and what it looks like after its hot combed.as a matter of fact,im going to utube me washing it,drying it,and my mother who is still the only person besides me that hot combs my hair.you will see how it changes.it is a pain with the grease and all but its a pain that i would rather have.

oh just in case,my pic of me is on http://www.blackplanet.com/courtneyr.

my hair was dumb thick like that to when i was younger..It thinned out a bit but now its growing back very thick again..mind u I hot comb not perm and it matters what your family blood line is.all the women in my family have very long hair.My grandmother passed in 06 but her hair was done to her butt all hers.my grandmother was half cherokee indian and irish.I got those pics too.stop believing that every black sisters hair is fake.because it isnt true..

That is her hair..I have the same exact problem.Why is it that when you see a darkskin african american female,her hair is fake.I gaurentee that every inch of my long hair on my head is home grown..I have a pic on my website of me when I was a baby to prove it so and what I look like now.The reason being,my mother never allowed anyone to touch my head.She never cut . it as a child and teenager which made me believe that it should just grow and to leave it alone.Besides,My mother always told me that men love long hair thats your own.Not sown.
To many women who have girls jump at putting a perm or cutting thier childs hair as a kid.This is wrong to me for the sake of being lazy and not wanting to deal with it.doing your little girls hair should be a great bonding experience between mother and daughter..Thats tradition and that makes to much sense right? Your childs hair doesnt have to be bone straight to fit what society says is exceptable.I resent the fact that women assume because I do have long hair,that I couldnt of possibly grown it.The bottom line,while young girls were to busty being ms fast ass,following trends and laughing at me growing up,,kind of like that Oprah pic,the very same women are mad at themselves for not listening to tradition.I dont see hat the fuss is about,because its mine,its just hair..It cracks me up to have to always answer to stupidity when im in public from strange women taking time out of my day to ask me if my hair is mine..For the most part,we all have the same start as little girls.STOP PERMING AND CUTTING OUT YOUR HAIR!!!! so by the time your 30,you’ll have some..

Does not add up to me. O has always had very thick hair and as a child it was very long. If that is her hair unpressed and unrelaxed, then it would be MUUUUUUCCCH longer than it is on TV when it has been relaxed. Still think it’s a weave/wig. Why would Gail (her BFF)say yowsers…that should be so normal to her of ALL people. C’mon!!!
