List of AOL-owned websites, Seed.com forum? Selling article to Seed.com tips…

by Paula Mooney on January 25, 2010

New Business Helps Sellers Use eBay

I’m so intrigued by AOL’s new Seed.com and all its potential for writers and photogs that I’ve submitted three articles to Seed.

Thus far two have gotten rejected with the  “Article not chosen” and “Photos not chosen” explanation.

But I have high hopes and prayers going up for the next one:

That one was a piece that really held my interest — something I wanted to write about and thought about for days beforehand.

Information I had intimate knowledge concerning, and as they say, “No tears in the writer, no tears in the reader,” so that translates to excitement and desire, too.

We shall see.

I’m glad I wrote it, plus I made sure to link to other AOL-owner website properties like Seed.com suggests. So as soon as it sells, I’ll update this post.

Plus, I’ll continue to update this list of AOL-owned websites and their bend as I find them. (I know there’s a Wiki page list, but I want to make sure I have my own, too.)

You know AOL-owned websites when you see the “AOL – Mail” and all those links at the top left of the websites, plus that tell-tale “© Copyright 2009 AOL Inc. All Rights Reserved.” at the bottom of the site, or “Spinner.com © 2009 AOL Inc. All Rights Reserved” or some variation like “© Copyright 2010 AOL Inc All Rights Reserved” for sites like PopEater that have updated their copyright text.

I’m most excited about the ones that are listed in Google News — that’s golden. If a Seed.com article gets a good Google News distribution through a website — or on the front page of AOL, if they’re doing that, like I’m going for with the *** fingers crossed in prayer position *** AOL Black Voices piece above I’m shooting for — then the pageviews can flow in.

But Google News’ status shifts, so click the links next to the website names below to find out.

MovieFone.com – Movie News – Movie Fone in Google News?

Sphere.com – AOL News – Sphere in Google News?

Spinner.com – AOL Music News – Spinner in Google News?

PopEater.com – Gossip – PopEater in Google News?

BlackVoices.com – AOL Black Voices New – Black Voices in Google News?

StyleList.com – AOL Style and Beauty News – Style List in Google News?

More AOL Websites:

Does anyone know if Seed.com has a forum for writers and photos? If so, leave a comment, please.

If not, maybe I could start one. Thanks much. Onward fellow Seed.com writers and photogs!

This is one of the pernicious effects of affirmative action. In our PC/affirmative action enlightenment, we nurse to look upon the achievements and promotions of minorities as a consequence of affirmative strength policies as contrasted with of individual diligence and talent. This undermines these rather achievements.
Another ungovernable here is that it sets human honesty at odds with the higher transcendent morality. If the higher decency is common to conclude the Extermination, necessary disease outbreaks, etc, as effects, while human fair play whim mediator them miasmic, then the ‘good’ in each of these moralities are different. Admissible on the higher ideals is not what we mean around good.

hi, Paula it is hard commenting on your blogspot blog,

I want to know the impact of the changes which examiner has brought about, it seems it is very important to choose the titles which you are going to blog sbout carefully.

Have you seen a major drop in your pageviews and earnings or have you adapted well to the changes?

I am still going examiner a go, but I need to choose correct topics to write for.

It is a shame that there are these changes, I wonder why they were brought about.

There must be a market for examiners allowing other writers to publish on their topic. Sooner or later that will develop but it is a black hat technique.

Having sad that, how difficult is it to get on google news? There is a lot of trade at the moment, guaranteeing topspot on google via press releases.

I have had marginal success with seed. They reject alot of articles though. I have had 8 accepted so far. It is a numbers game so anything I write for them needs to be marketable elsewhere in case it is rejected. I just wrote a blog and follow up about my experiences on my website blog at ahermitt.com
