Lakers Parade 2009 Parade Route Schedule – When is the Laker parade? Find details below…

by Paula Mooney on June 16, 2009

UPDATE: Finally, here’s more detailed information about the Lakers 2009 parade…

It’s odd because some news reports are saying that LA refused to throw the Lakers a 2009 Championship Parade, while other news outlets are giving detailed reports of the Lakers’ championship parade. Here’s the latest info:

The Lakers’ parade will march on Wednesday, June 17, 2009 — with the Lakers’ parade traveling along a two-mile route from Staples Center to the Coliseum, and thus far, these are the most details I’ve found about the Lakers’ parade route:

This Wednesday when the 2009 Lakers Parade begins at 11am near the Staples Center in downtown LA, I’m sure loads of Lakers fans will follow along the route, or meet them at the final destination of the rally.

According to In Entertainment, the 2009 Championship Parade route runs along Figueroa and then ends at the Coliseum — and that Lakers 2009 Parade attendees are being urged to arrive early.

Congrats, Lakers!

I was looking at the ambiance and lighting offered at Pacific Event Lighting for the Laker parade and was happy to see all the positive feedback from the city of Los Angeles

Go Lakers! If Ghetto LA fans want to act like “freaks of nature”, then why don’t we get a football team for LA and name them the LA Riots? That would fit our city.. Back to the insanity.. Why would our fans celebrate a Lakers Championship victory by destroying LA property? Just Low-life degenerates with absolutely no respect for their home town or themselves.
Get your act together FOOLS! And yes.. you know exactly who I am talking about! I am an LA LAKERS fan for life. Born and raised on the LAKERS and will die a LAKERS fan! For those who want to make our city look bad and disgrace our town.. you could all rot in hell and kiss my white ass bitches!!! GO LAKERS!!!

Kris Gabut June 17, 2009 at 12:52 am

Common !!! This is freag’n LA People !!! 1 or 2 million is like a chicken S*** to the fans. Let Leonardo DiCaprio or Justin Timberlake or MR JACK or Tiger Woods pay for the parade. Aren’t they fans? Right? Stop embarrassing our Lakers team. It’s not about the money, it;s about the celebration and for me as a true Lakers fan the is priceless !!!!!!!!!!!!

Theodore June 16, 2009 at 11:20 pm

I don’t care how broke this city is. The Lakers deserve a parade. I don’t care if we stop helping the homeless- I want to see Kobe. I don’t care about stopping money to help women and children who are victims of domestic violence- I want to see Luke Walton. I don’t care about how many teachers are getting laid off- I want to see Adam Morrisson. These guys are good at putting a ball through a hoop and that makes my life worth living. The Lakers have earned this. Homeless, beaten wives & kids, uneducated students that’s you’re tough luck. GO LAKERS!!!

sports suck ?? eh john ……any good reason why your on this site?

diane June 16, 2009 at 2:34 pm

For all you who blame the city- did you vote in the last “special” election? One official who was voted in was a conservative who is known for putting people behind bars rather then spending within community support programs, which there was also a canidate WE didn’t elect. The same for the election before that when all the attention was on gay marrage there were several propositions that diverted state money into longer prison sentences rather than education and help in lower income communities. Did you read the ballot? Did you vote? Our options are there. Please wake up and participate in an effective way.

Lynnette June 16, 2009 at 2:24 pm

I think since los angeles can’t afford it, I think Lakers owners should pay for it and not us…..We have too much to pay for already, and they can afford it. Too many people are out of work now days.
Thanks

Lucy June 16, 2009 at 12:20 pm

Does anyone know how early they are allowing folks to line up at the Coliseum?

education revolution June 16, 2009 at 12:09 pm

L.A is broke because of our greedy ass politicians and corrupt as police force if there complaining about 1 million look up all the settlements that L.A.P.D has paid out within the last five years, way over 4 million thats our money paying for those suits because we have a bunch of idiots and trigger happy fucks on the force but yet we need more idiots to protect us and those idiots need new cars and buildings cut the fucking L.A.P.D budget i say. when you treat people like animals they act like animals, education not jails, reform not incarceration.

L.A lakers should pay at least for 75% of the cost we are laker fans and we are celebrating for them.

Cynthia June 16, 2009 at 10:19 am

I am a diehard Laker fan….and always love the parades, but it is ridiculous that some people only know how to celebrate by destroying and stealing other peoples property. Because of these ignorant fools, the rest of us must suffer. WE cant afford a parade because WE have to pay for teh damage that these fools caused and WE cant afford a parade because these fools will probably cause more damage at the parade. Hopefully not having a parade will remind these fools that they can not act like that and next time we can have a parade. I think what they should do is have a celebration at the Coliseum and sell tickets for like $5.00 or $10.00, at least that would help cover the cost and hopefully avoid the lowlifes coming in and causing problems, if they have to pay maybe they wont come!

15 Rings June 16, 2009 at 12:32 am

A parade is nothing more than giving a little something back to us fans who spent OUR hard earned cash on $12 beer at a game or $100 on a jersey. I can almost guarantee that at some point during the celebration, someone for the Lakers will say something like, “…and it wouldn’t be possible without all you fans out there” which is more than I can say for the liars at City Hall. So go on Laker family and go to that FREE parade and have a little fun. In times like this it is the best medicine!!!!!

PS
Laker parade will be safe because the rioters are still in county. Every year they have won the BS happended on victory night not victory parade. Parades have always been safe in LA. Celebrate safely my peoples! Doyers are next.

mista June 15, 2009 at 11:48 pm

This will be my 1st time at a LAKERS parade. Does anyone know what type of festivities will take place?

Enrique Silva June 15, 2009 at 11:43 pm

Go lakers!!!…hell yeah the city should help pay for parade, i understand we are in a crisis and the state keeps making cuts on education and laying off state employees to save some money, we already pay for taxes on almost everything and the state still does not have enough money. I got an idea for another budget cut, why doesn’t Arnold take a pay cut im sure he can survive with what he has already made from acting, state politicians should take a pay cut also but instead they agree to get rid of teachers, oh sure is not like the classrooms are not overcrowded as it is, the taxes that the residents of this state pay is alot of money and it is never enough, instead of building more schools they build more jails. So let us celebrate and be happy!!! at the end the city doesn’t pay for the parade the tax payers are the ones providing the money, and as long as the true laker fans keep the hoodlums in check so they dont make us look like idiots, cause if a riot breaks out we only valadate the opponents of the parade. so lets all enjoy the parade.I’LL BE THERE, ARE YOU? now its the Dodgers turn.

tyree June 15, 2009 at 10:27 pm

Why is LA broke? We pay our taxes, the politicians destroy the budget, millions are owed but why? The moral and the great feeling and the spirit the lakers bring to our community is worth it. I know now a days that everything has a price but how great do all the lakers fans feel right now especially after last year. I know I’m super excited to be there and can’t wait to greet my team and watch them hoist that trophy into the air. We shouldnlt punish ourselves with all this “the city is broke” talk. If there’s no parade the politicians should pay. Were in this position because the officials we elected allowed it to happen.

REUBENZiNO June 15, 2009 at 7:50 pm

I’LL BE THERE MOS DEF… i’m def gunna get there early, but i don’t know where to?… where are they going to speak and all that shit, infront of staples or at tha colesium?… can sombody let me know please, i appreciate it!! thankz…
LA LAKERZ, LA DODGERS… 2009 BABY!!!!

Daniel Villa June 15, 2009 at 7:46 pm

We the Lakers fans know that the people who started the riots are a bunch of losers, who if you stop and ask for the Lakers line up , the only player they know, would be Kobe if we get lucky. The real Laker fans will make sure at the parade that we regulate and contol those losers. Party hard and love L.A.

LILBABYDOLL_SGV June 15, 2009 at 6:18 pm

EVERYONE HAS DIFFERENT OPINIONS BUT EVERYONE IS RIGHT IN THEIR OWN WAY.IF PEOPLE COULD JUST ACT RIGHT AND HAVE FUN LIKE NORMAL PEOPLE THINGS WOULDNT GET OUT OF HAND LIKE IT DID LAST NIGHT!!! YES I UNDERSTAND THE LAKERS WON BABY!!!!! BUT COME ON IS THAT THE WAY TO PARTY?? DESTROYING OTHER PEOPLES PROPERTY,WHEN THEIR THE PEOPLE WHO WORK THEIR ASS OFF TO HAVE WHAT THEY HAVE!! COME ON PARTY LIKE BACK IN THE DAYS GET DRUNK,BLAZE A BLUNT AND JUST CHILL WITH YOUR LAKER GEAR AND HAVE A BLAST!!! THROW A PARTY WHERE ALL LAKER FANS ARE IN INVITED WITH NO DRAMA, JUST FUN, WHERE EVERYONE COULD HAVE FUN AND CELEBRATE THAT OUR TEAM WON THE CHAMPIONSHIP!!!! GO LAKERS!!!!!! I JUST HOPE EVERYONE HAS A BLAST AT THE LAKER PARADE WITH NO DRAMA!!!! CAN WE JUST GET ALONG FOR ONCE AND HAVE FUN!!!

Bebe June 15, 2009 at 5:41 pm

Does anyone know what’s going to go on in the Colesium during the rally?? Just cheerleaders….players….doing what??

Jonny Laker June 15, 2009 at 5:22 pm

The truth is… If we are so broke as a city then…
without a doubt the Lakers Organization can afford to cover the costs for the parade. I paid a lot of money to watch post season games including Game 2 of the finals. The city didn’t collect my money, the organization did. So when you think about it, the city doesn’t make Laker’s fans, the team does. And for that reason the city shouldn’t thank me with a parade, the team should to thank all of us for our support and $$$.

MIA GARCIA June 15, 2009 at 4:21 pm

THEY DESERVE A PARADE
THEY BETTA HAVE ONE
GO LAKERS ALL DAY EVERDAY
NBDY CANT STOP THEM =D

TREW June 15, 2009 at 3:21 pm

people did act dumb last night, but i guess only they know why they did what they did. but at the end of the day we the tax payers pay for all of that and the police men salary, so the hell with every body who doesnt live in l.a and has an opinion about it!! GO LAKERS !!!!!!!!!

Louie V June 15, 2009 at 3:00 pm

If L.A. doesn’t deserve the lakers than Las Vegas will take them! ………Hahahahahah………hahahhaah…….!!!!

Jason June 15, 2009 at 1:30 pm

Mary i went to the last three in 00 01 and 02 and it is so hot no one will be drunk out there or they will pass out plus the police presense is so strong there that if anyone even starts to act up they are arrested. so you can take your kids out there.

Ziara June 15, 2009 at 1:27 pm

Tyler…I’m with you on that one…if the fans weren’t as stupid as they were last night, then there wouldn’t be a need to build more police administration buildings and jails…and maybe the city would use money towards rewarding things such as a Laker parade. Instead, people are looting, jumping on police cars, throwing firecrackers, starting fires, etc…I mean do people not get it. And, how come a father is out there throwing rocks at the metro with his child doing the same thing next to him??? It’s sad and even sadder that people think it was ok…IT WAS A CHAMPIONSHIP! Simply pathetic!!! And embarassing. So, if there isn’t a parade thank all of the idiots who were acting like animals last night in Downtown L. A.

Anthony June 15, 2009 at 1:19 pm

I read that the parade is going cost up to 2.1 million and that the Lakers are gonna put up 1 million. Yeah it sucks that some of the fans can’t act right when it comes to celebrating a championship, you would have that we lost with all that rioting. Those are the fans that give true fans a bad rap. But in the end the true fans are gonna show up rain or shine whether or not there is a parade. So LA better think of something to capitalize on this event if they want to make their money back.

mary June 15, 2009 at 1:06 pm

i’m planning to go with my children. what do guys think? will it be to violent with people getting all drunk and nasty?

Joseph June 15, 2009 at 12:35 pm

Is the a price at the Coliseum to see the festivities? I’ve read about the cost of the parade to be about 1 million dollars and debates on who should pay. I haven’t heard or seen any information as to wether or not fans have to pay to get into the Coliseum. Does anyone know?

Jim June 15, 2009 at 12:22 pm

FUCK IF WERE BROKE!!!! THE POLITICIANS SHOULD HAVE DONE THEIR JOBS RIGHT! GO LAKERS!!

tyler June 15, 2009 at 12:08 pm

Really? Do you live under a rock? Or were you one of those people that ran out of that store with 14 pairs of looted shoes.Guess what? They city has to pay for that. They also have to pay for all the cars that were trashed.Oh and our city is BROKE.So when you try to go to school in the summer,oh wait you cant because…we are broke.I would like to know what program they will be taking away so all you selfish people can have a parade for a sports team that has more money then our city!

mario June 15, 2009 at 11:28 am

if the city doesn’t want to pay for the parade then the team should drop L.A. from their jerseys. they should just call them selves the Lakers! and the next time a city offical like the mayor or city supervisors want laker tickets then they should pay for them!!!! like the rest of “US” true fans!!!. or maybe give them the tickets and have them sit way up top!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! L.A. doesn’t have money for a parade but they have money to build a new police administration building on 1st and main in downtown and also a new city jail right next to parker center and a police motor pool on 3rd and main!!!! c’mon L.A. don’t be so freaking TIGHT!!!!!!

Paula Mooney June 15, 2009 at 7:16 am

I don’t know. I just searched for Lakers parade 2009 disabled on Google News and don’t yet see any information.

Hopefully they will accommodate the disabled, or maybe put up a phone number to call for more information. Keep checking that link — I’m not sure if by Wednesday they’ll have more information up.

kiki June 15, 2009 at 7:04 am

will there be a special spot for the disabled and there family.
