If you’re a webmaster sick of sitting there seeing a big goose-egg in your Amazon account each month, here are a few tips I’ve learned about making money pitching Amazon products:

  1. Jump on any new product that you hear about on TV or elsewhere and if it’s on Amazon, write up an article about it. One of my best-selling Amazon products is one off-handed product that I wrote a piece about almost a year ago — it was expensive and tied to a superstar, and though sales dip and rise, it’s a consistent seller.

  2. Quickly cut and paste Amazon code onto your website found under the Build/Links and Widgets option in Amazon after signing up under your account — then grab the surrounding picture and price and product info by copying and pasting it to your website in the visual mode (not HTML or code mode) of your post like I did here.

  3. Experiment with placing iFrame code within your post or at the bottom like I did in this post about the new Wii Fit game.

  4. Mix it up with writing actual link text throughout your post like I did in this post about the controversial anti-Christian movie The Golden Compass.

  5. Don’t forget to check Amazon often — lately they’ve added revenue-making products like MP3 downloads and Amazon Unbox movies — and experiment with what works.

  6. Add banners like this under the “Easy Links” section of link building in Amazon.com — ones that rotate to suit the needs and best match your readers:
  7. As always, don’t forget to comment and let me know how much your Amazon earnings increase!
