Today is April 6, 2011, so I popped into my Google Adsense account to see that my Adsense earnings and revenue have increased proportionately more than last month.
Already they sit at $75.92 in Adsense revenue earnings in just a few days — and I’m building my websites and Adsense earnings back up and beyond the days when I made $5,000 per month from Google Adsense income and revenue alone before I got my WatchFreeEpisodes.com website banned.
(Wow! That just gave me a great idea for a new TV online website — folks love clicking on those Adsense ads for some reason.)
People are searching to learn whether Google Adsense is a scam — it’s not a scam, but lots of people sell scammy Adsense “kits” and ebooks that are scams. They also type in stuff like “Google Adsense revenue,” so I’m assuming they are looking for info about how to earn and increase their own Google Adsense income online.
Most of what you need to know about increasing your Google Adsense income you can find online for free, so read on…
Last month, March 2011, I made $522.95 in Google Adsense revenue. In February 2011, my Adsense earnings were $364.18.
As you can see from this pic — CLICK TO ENLARGE THE PIC OF MY GOOGLE ADSENSE EARNINGS — they’ve been well over $5,000 some months, so let’s get back there and beyond:
How I increased my Google Adsense earnings, and will increase them more soon…
Put Adsense on most of your sites, use the Thesis WordPress.org theme and write, write, write!
First of all, in this post I talk about using the lovely Thesis theme (well worth the money) and explain how to put your Adsense ads inside posts for increased revenue.
(Note that I had to do away with my sidebar in order to get that large Adsense rectangle ad to look good enough to float inside the post, but it’s worth the redesign on some of my sites. Perhaps I’ll play around with small Google Adsense ads in some of my other sites, but the large recs have always gotten the most clicks and money in common industry assumptions.)
Again, use them at your own risk — no risk, no reward, right?
So I am going to use my own instructions to put Google Adsense on some of my other websites, ones that I didn’t want to necessarily clutter with ads.
We’ll see how they look. I’m on a serious mission to pay the IRS all I owe them, so I’m increasing my Google Adsense earnings this April 2011 and every month after that.
And by the way, Google loves WordPress.org self-hosted sites more than their own Blogger blog sites — and if you’re serious about staying in this web business, you need to add your own dot coms and not just stop with free blogs with blogspot or wordpress in the url domain name.
Thesis is supposed to be SEO’d (search engine optimized) to the hilt, and I don’t know if it’s the placebo effect taking place, but I believe that theme is really helping me get the searches.
Write more… in the Holy Spirit of God
I had a vision from God that a heavy chain was removed from my left wrist (I’m left-handed) and I took that to mean that the chain was off my writing and I was free from something that had bound me.
I can feel it — I’m writing like a wonder woman!
And the more you write, the more opportunities you get for people to find you — especially from your gut, especially from that stuff that flows out of your belly and helps others — the more backlinks you can create from sites that help you get more web hits and pageviews from the Google searches and SERPS, and therefore more Google Adsense income as a result.
Put your Google Adsense code in clearly named channels so you know where the money is coming from…
I admit, I’ve been guilty of just throwing my Google Adsense ads into one channel name that had nothing to do with the website I put the Google Adsense code on.
Sure, that saved me time in the beginning, but it’s not worth not knowing where my Google Adsense money is coming from.
So lately I’ve gone through and updated my Google Adsense channels like seen in this pic — CLICK TO ENLARGE:
Put names and ad locations and types so you'll know which websites and specific ads and sizes and locations are bringing you the most Google Adsense income
You see that “PNM Large Rec in Post” Adsense channel? That lets me know that these ads you see on PaulaNealMooney.com have made $70.48 last month (I only added them towards the end of March, so this is a good sign for my Adsense earnings increasing.)
In order to get those channel names in your ads, when you click on the “Adsense Setup” and “Get Ads” fields, then chose “Single Page” to see all the options on one page, you can click “Add new channel” and type in whatever channel name will help you remember the website and type of ad you are going to place on your site — plus the location:
CLICK THE PIC TO ENLARGE IT AND SEE HOW TO ADD CUSTOM GOOGLE CHANNELS TO YOUR ADSENSE ADS -- GOOGLE WILL TELL YOU THE CHARACTER LIMIT
I’m also surprised and delighted at how people are clicking the “Paula Neal Mooney end” ads, which are the Adsense ads I put at the bottom of every post.
The “Paula Neal Mooney” links at the top are running a close 3rd in Adsense revenue behind the rectangle inside each post and the ads at the end, but these specific channel names let me know that the inside the post Adsense ads are bringing the most money now.
By adding Adsense to my other niche sites and write, write, writing and getting backlinks and everything, I plan to bring my Adsense earnings back up to $5,000 this month and beyond.
Get a targetable Adsense channel
Under the “AdSense Setup” tab in your Google Adsense account under “AdSense for Content” you will see Custom channels
That’s where you’ll get the opportunity to make your existing or new custom Adsense channels “targetable” — which means you can make them more attractive to advertisers.
If you click “edit settings” next to one of your Adsense channels, you get the chance to “Show this channel to advertisers as an ad placement” as you’ll see in this checked box:
“These fields will be shown to advertisers,” says Google, and I’m assuming they mean the all the fields following that line, which would include your sites name and the other stuff like where their ads will appear, including the location and pages.
Plus, I think they show the website’s description — so this is the place to show off and brag about a popular website or a high pagerank or high views or whatever. Can’t hurt, right?
Here are other warnings that Google Adsense gives about targeting:
When you create an ad placement, advertisers using placement targeting will be able to see it when searching for places on which to display their ads, either by topic, keywords, or categories.
When you turn a custom channel into an ad placement, advertisers will see your ad placement among the available places on which to place their ads.
1. Select the channel you’d like to make targetable, then click the corresponding ‘edit settings’ link.
2. Check Show this channel to advertisers as an ad placement and enter a description for your channel. Advertisers will see the name and description, so be accurate and informative.
3. Click Save channel.Note: if you edit the name of the channel later, you’ll lose any existing advertiser bids for that placement.
I truly think my targetable info on my TV channel is one of the things that helps it get such high Adsense revenue, even with not that many pageviews — coupled with a low bounce rate, no doubt.
Avoid Google Adsense smart pricing
Now this is something I want to try out myself.
Google smart prices certain accounts — Google “Adsense smart price” for more info — and the talk is that certain sites are offered lower payments or whatever.
According to Techie Buzz according to Google, “Google AdSense shares 68% of AdSense for content revenue with users. Google AdSense for search shares 51% of the revenue with publishers” and we don’t know yet how much the mobile ads we’re getting a cut of yet.
And I don’t even know exactly how the smart pricing works, but the theory is that if you have a lot of websites or whatever under one Adsense account, you might get “smart priced” and make less money.
So I’m thinking of having my LLC company’s Adsense under a different account to see if those Adsense earnings are better.
Happy Adsense earnings!

Wow, that’s flattering, but I’ve been giving away all my tips for free on my websites.
As you can see, I was up to $5k per month at one point, but just yesterday I made 20 bucks in Adsense earnings, so they aren’t what they used to be, but I hope and pray I can get them back up again. I was thinking about switching out some of my Adsense code with the channel that is targeted and see if that would help.
Right now I’m more focused on building up my Amazon revenue because Chris Guthrie (I’m going to profile him on 50over50k.com said he had 500,000 views on his Netbookreviews.com website that he sold for six figures, and only made $500 per month in Adsense from all those views. He makes a lot of Amazon money. I’m all into product reviews now.
I have to read the post slowly, I am frustrated with my adsense earnings so far.
I would like to hire you as a consultant for adsense, how much do you charge? If you are interested please give me a ring.
Thanks, Ann, that’s good encouragement on a day when I felt like I was spinning my wheels. Progress is good.
Paula, I really enjoy reading your success stories. I do learn from them. I have a Wordpress site which I have not bothered with because blogspot has been so much easier for me to manage. I will have to check out the Thesis theme and maybe look into Wordpress a little more. Keep up the good work and much success to you.
