Giving Kontera Another Chance, Getting More Money — and Better Ads, I Pray

by Paula Mooney on October 14, 2011

Playing around with pics on my iPad 2 and some free sketch app

Earlier this year I famously quit Kontera after I saw a scam ad from LA-Sentinel.com being triggered — and I just didn’t want that crap on my websites.

I see I’ve been with Kontera since at least August of 2007, when I wrote about earning monies with them.

But as you can see on my latest income report, the last time I was paid from Kontera was back on 6/1/20111, which represents funds from the months prior to June that made it up to their payout level.

(Turns out I hadn’t pulled all the Kontera codes from all my many websites, because I just got my forgotten password and logged in for the first time in a long time to see that there were still dollars coming in from somewhere.)

Anyhoo, a nice woman from Kontera has been calling me from California — I think their based around the Bay Area where we plan to vacation nearby next year — and she asked me to reconsider using Kontera.

I explained to her the reason I pulled the code down because of the scam ad triggered, and she worked with her team to block that ad and offer better ads and a better split, so I agreed to give them another try.

I like the fact that they didn’t just let me leave, but listened to their publishers concerns and responded.

So I got that code again and plopped it on this website. Now I’ve gotta take the InfoLinks code off my Blogger blog and load up Kontera over there, too, and any other website I want to put it on, and keep an eye on them to hopefully not see any sketchy ads again.

They were a great resource of income — those months that I earned enough to get paid a nice chunk of hundreds of dollars directly deposited into my checking account near the beginning of the month. And I wouldn’t mind seeing those hundreds or more again. But not at the expenses of running scam ads.

Geez — there’s enough of those all around the net on major websites.

Anyway, I didn’t even know InfoLinks produced the pop-up ads (just at the bottom) that I just saw on my Blogger blog — and I don’t think I’ve been paid by them yet, so it’s off to see how much I’m even earning through them before I strip out their code.

Good deal, Kontera, I pray this is a prosperous and lasting relationship.
