Get more pageviews on Examiner.com – Keep Notepad open and use the “source” button more…
Since I’m back on the grind writing up Examiner.com article today, just thought I’d share a tip that helps me out a lot when I’m writing Examiner pieces: Keep your Notepad program open and make use of the “source” button if you know any HTML at all.
Apply to write for Examiner.com here now…
For example, when I write an Examiner article, I always switch from “basic editor” to “advanced editor” because I don’t like where the basic editor puts the pics. I might be wrong, but advanced editor puts it up nicely in the right hand corner where I like it. Perhaps I should try basic again to see if this has changed.
Anyway, after you switch to advance editor, keep your notepad window open and type up your article in notepad. Since I know a lot of common HTML code and how to use it I just write up my paragraphs and links in there — especially if I have CNN.com or YouTube.com or some other site open and I’m writing up a news report and quotes as I’m watching a video.
So use the common HTML code list to familiarize yourself with them if you don’t know them — and type away.
Then click over to the “source” button in Examiner — wherein you’ll see a lot of code. After the “div” paragraph when you see the “Insert photo caption or credit here” phrase, you can delete everything after that and just paste what you’ve typed from Notepad into the Examiner article box.
Click the source page again and you’ll see it show up as a normal article if you’ve placed all your code and text in their correctly.
Upload your pic like normal and publish.
This is one way I’m able to fly thru a bunch of articles if need be.
