Watch as Boston Red Sox’s Jacoby Ellsbury steals home in the video below, making it safe in under New York Yankees’ catcher Jorge Posada’s tag — which folks are saying shouldn’t have happened. Because there was a left-handed batter at bat, Ellsbury stealing home was something baseball experts are saying should have been seen quite clearly by Posada.
But life doesn’t work as we expect. And of the many baseball games I watched bored-outta-my-gourd with my grandfather, don’t know if I recall anyone stealing home base like Ellsbury, who actually came out and took a bow after stealing home because the crowd kept cheering his unexpected and delightful (for the Boston fans) home-base steal:
