Danny Gans Cause of Death Finally Found to be Acute Hydromorphone Toxicity

by Paula Mooney on June 19, 2009

Finally, we’ve got a cause of death result for Danny Gans: Acute hydromorphone toxicity.

The coroner did not use the word overdose. For more information on acute hydromorphone toxicity, read the reports here.

Thanks for the comment from Emet below leading me to this Danny Gans interview with Bonnie Hunt:

Casino City Times reports that Danny Gans’ autopsy showed no cause of death — and says that it could be up to a month before the cause of death is specified.

Michael Murphy, the Clark County Coroner, has said that it may take “several weeks” to determine Danny Gans’ cause of death…and the Sun Sentinel is reporting that his good friend said Danny Gans was in apparent good health, didn’t use drugs and didn’t smoke. So his fans are even more anxious to understand what took Danny Gans’ seemingly so early from this earth.

I was just amazed to read that the talented and well-loved Las Vegas entertainer Danny Gans has died at the age of only 52 years old.

“I wanted to see him,” my husband just said. He’d already read the news about Danny Gans’ death, and I’d just found out. So I immediately went searching for the cause of Danny Gans’ death, and TMZ is reporting that an autopsy to determine Danny Gans’ cause of death will be performed on Saturday, May 2, 2009.

How soon after Danny Gans’ autopsy will authorities release the findings is another story.

I feel sorry for Danny Gans’ wife and three children — I seriously pray they can be comforted right now thru their pain, in knowing that Danny Gans’ was a born-again Christian whose act was in line with his faith. He was supremely talented, as those of us who only got to watch parts of his act on TV can attest to; just imagine the folks who got to see Gans in person!

When I read that Gans’ was experiencing shortness of breath, I immediately thought that heart attack or heart problems may end up being the cause of death, but we’ll have to wait for the autopsy reports to know for sure.

May the God of all comfort please comfort his family fully right now during this sudden and tragic loss. So unexpected at a young age. We just never know.

alisa, I said “God” given brain. Note the quotation marks. I don’t know if there’s a God, or a heaven, or a hell. NOBODY does. But analyzing the facts available and putting everything into its proper perspective, I’m more inclined to believe that there IS NO God or heaven or hell. Ask me if I believe in space aliens and I’m more inclined to say YES — even though I haven’t seen one of those either. As vast as the universe is, I’d say that the chances are far greater in favor of the possibility of there being intelligent life elsewhere in the galaxies, than the chance of planet earth being the lone supporter of life as we know it.
Also, your case for everyone accepting Jesus as their “saviour” is also primarily based upon fear. Your reasoning for “witnessing” to others is, “why RISK spending eternity in hell?” You’re trying to sell life insurance for the “soul” but you have NO TANGIBLE PROOF that this threat of eternal damnation actually exists. You’re selling an insurance policy with no visible payoff. It’s like the old joke about the guy who paid his life insurance premiums faithfully, but when he died suddenly, his widow was unable to collect. She asked the insurance agent, “what good is insurance if you’re unable to collect on it?”
The agent replied, “PEACE OF MIND!”
You Christians are basically trying to tell everybody else who will listen to you the same thing.

alisa May 22, 2009 at 8:15 pm

This is for Ron.. So you do believe in God since you say we all have a God given brain. That’s a start but you have a long way to go. Let’s just use your own terms here.
IMAGINE how you will feel if you are wrong and you end up in a firey hell for eternity. THINK about how people tried to get you to believe. Lastly what will your REASON be then?
I don’t have to win any argument. I know God is my salvation and the only thing we are here for is to serve and praise him. For me there is no defending only witnessing to lost souls so they won’t have to spend eternity in HELL. Are you willing to gamble on your eterninty? That is what I call not using your God given brain.

Carol May 22, 2009 at 4:56 pm

Ron, I come in peace. Those of us who have posted regarding Christian beliefs aren’t doing so because we have to win an argument. We truly believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, and we have the right to defend our faith, just as you apparently feel the need to refute it. That changes nothing. Even if you don’t believe in gravity, it doesn’t change the fact that you can fall off a cliff if you stand too close to the edge. I hope that you will have a change of heart and experience peace in your life.

Ron May 22, 2009 at 10:03 am

The comments above all prove my point. Christians are AFRAID of the possibility of eternal “damnation” more than ANYTHING else. Obviously, given a choice between ceasing to exist body and “soul” altogether, and suffering eternal anguish and agony in hell — EVERYBODY would choose the former. Comments above like “Why even tempt finding out how a soul could burn eternally? Who would even want to risk that?” and “I’m covered, I am washed by the water and I’m good with it,” show your FEAR.
Fear of the UNKNOWN.
That’s understandable. That’s human nature.
Save your own skin — or “soul” in this case.
But that shouldn’t stop you from THINKING about the complete absurdity of all of this religious NONSENSE.
Only the TRULY faithful dare question their faith.
The others just line up with the lemmimgs and follow the leader off of the cliff.

Dennis May 22, 2009 at 8:54 am

Sam Pinterpe,
I’m curious how long you think God should let the good people live.

And Ron,
No, it doesn’t always make sense. But that’s why it’s called faith. If you choose not to believe, you will find a multitude of reasons not to. Same can be said in reverse. So maybe it’s not so much about science, but more about personal choices.

Dana May 22, 2009 at 8:52 am

Nope, doesn’t “FRUSTRATE THE HELL OUT OF ME”. I’m covered, I am washed by the water and I’m good with it. It looks like your text is about 3 words for every one word submitted by anyone else. That speaks for itself.

Paula Mooney May 22, 2009 at 7:02 am

Ron, just please stop fighting God and pray. The Almighty will win in the end. Why even tempt finding out how a soul could burn eternally? Who would even want to risk that?

Ron May 22, 2009 at 12:25 am

That’s another thing you can THINK about. How can a “soul” burn eternally in hell? Is it noncombustible?
How can a “soul” feel eternal pain and agony in hell? Does it have nerves and pain centers like the body?
Should I go on???
You see, when you stop and THINK about it –
It just doesn’t make sense.
Does it?

MJK May 21, 2009 at 11:17 pm

unfortunately, i tend to agree with the better part of what ron is writing here. looking at these things logically, as he puts it, compared to what the “bible” states, starts to make you think hard and really wonder. what if ron’s right? is life just a pointless accidental fluke of nature then? why does christianity use so many scare tactics to keep their followers in line? i think way more people are afraid of burning eternally in hell after they die than anything else, so to play it safe they accept jesus christ as their saviour … just in case. :-)

Ron May 21, 2009 at 9:56 pm

Ha,ha that’s funnee.
It FRUSTRATES THE HELL OUT OF YOU that my rationale is entirely logical, doesn’t it? THINK. Just THINK.
Use your “God” given brain.
Why is it so difficult to shuck the final fairy tale (belief in an afterlife) when there is ABSOLUTELY NO PROOF of it ANYWHERE?
I say LOGICAL THINGS that you don’t want to hear because you’re TERRIFIED that what I say may be TRUE!
What separates man from the rest of the animals on this planet is that he knows how to reason and think.
THINK
Just THINK
It was man’s IMAGINATION that created the collective gods, goddesses, and other ASSorted deities in the first place. Can’t you see that? Has your faith BLINDED you to the truth?
Do you know what Occam’s Razor is?
Look it up.
The simplest explanation for the order of things tends to be the LOGICAL answer.
And God and his divinity is TOO COMPLEX to be logical.
Trust science.
Everyday the supposed few thousand year old planet earth created by God is found to be getting older all the time.
Life has been on this planet for BILLIONS OF YEARS.
Whether it will continue that long into the future remains to be seen.
But we won’t be here to see it.
Whatever you were doing nine months before you were born is what you’re going to be doing after you die.

Dana May 21, 2009 at 8:34 pm

Hey Ron, take a good look in a mirror. You are one ugly man. This stems from the inside-seeps right through your skin and pops out UGLY for the world to see. Your chin also looks all distorted; must lead your life with your chin? Too bad life has been so nasty to you. Such a direct contrast to Mr Gans and what his life stood for, what he believed and how he hoped to leave this world a better place. Who put you up to this blog? Why in the world would you even want to be a part of this? Are you sick of being so ugly? Maybe that is a good question for Danny and his God. It is so clear that they are goofing with you. You would take so little effort, it is totally possible some day you may wake up a beautiful person.

Ron May 21, 2009 at 1:56 pm

You see what a hot topic this is? It’s because there is no definitive solution or right or wrong in this back and forth debate. You can’t prove who’s right and who’s wrong until AFTER you die. Then — your “soul” either goes to heaven or hell or your body sans “soul” lies in its grave until it rots and decays away. Quote Jesus: “Remember man that thou art dust, and into dust thou shalt return.” Really Jesus? I thought you were inviting us all to heaven or hell — make up your mind. Quote the guy a few posts back: “Jesus Christ is the only one who foretold of His resurrection and followed through with it which is confirmed by over 500 eye witnesses at the time.” I’m sure you’re aware of the numerous books written speculating that Jesus faked his own death, or otherwise wasn’t TOTALLY dead when he was taken down from the cross. Rise from the dead after three days? Ask magician Criss Angel — he probably knows how it’s done. Criss Angel can walk on water too. In fact he mimics several Christ-like theatrics all the time, including ascending into the heavens. As far as comments like — who can question the existence of God when we marvel at the glory of nature all around us? — thank evolution, and billions and billions of years of development until everything finally comes together and clicks as a whole. There’s no Godlike magic in a hummingbird or a rainbow. They’re just a couple of natural wonders thanks to Mother Nature. And Mother Nature isn’t God. This silly discussion can go on forever, and it’s starting to spur the “intellectuals” to chime in. So, before everything gets too complicated and starts flying over some people’s heads — let me break it down for you in simplified terms.
FACT: You’re all grown up now.
Time to stop believing in Santa Claus.
Time to stop believing in the Easter Bunny.
Time to stop believing in the Tooth Fairy.
Time to stop believing that you will somehow magically continue to exist after your body dies.

You are no different than any other animal on this planet, except that you have evolved enough to be able to think, reason, and IMAGINE!!

Daniel May 21, 2009 at 11:01 am

This is a posting about Danny Gans. Ron decides to use the forum for his innacurate views. I love the ‘every war was based on religion’ nonsense. Was World War II based on religion? Was the Gulf War in Kuwait based on religion? The list goes on to refute this nonsense… Read a history book Ron. If you can read…

Back to the subject at hand. I have wanted to see Danny Gans for years but something always came up to not go. On Valentine’s Day I got married in Las Vegas and my new wife and I saw Danny Gans. Something I always wanted to do. I raved to everyone in my presence what a great performer he was and the excellent show he put on. Danny moved you emotionally with discussions of his family and his goal to be closer to him, his good fortune to be given his opportunity to entertain. He brought you up with the high energy songs he did, he made you laugh, he made you cry. To hear he passed away seems inconceivable.

With apologies to Ron, who I’m sure I will offend by saying this horrible statement, I wish that God blesses Danny Gans and his family.

Paula Mooney May 21, 2009 at 7:05 am

John 3:16 (Amplified Bible)

For God so greatly loved and dearly prized the world that He [even] gave up His only begotten ([a]unique) Son, so that whoever believes in (trusts in, clings to, relies on) Him shall not perish (come to destruction, be lost) but have eternal (everlasting) life.

Please, to everyone who questions God and finds this post — maybe He had you find it for a reason. Maybe He’s calling you like He called me, until I finally stopped reasoning and pontificating and dabbling around in everything but that “old boring Christianity” (which I’d never fully studied and thought I knew all it had offer – rules and regulations) and said, “Okay, Jesus, do what You want with me.”

Any of us could die right now, and then it would be FOREVER eternally too late to realize our mistakes.

And by the by, in accounts like 23 Minutes in Hell and others I’ve read — the authors speak about no children being in hell.

And I believe there is much grace for people who’ve never heard the Gospel.

But to those of us who have heard about Christ taking a horrible, tortuous death for our wrongdoings and still reject Him — we are responsible for what we know. Just let the 5% of your being that might want to believe come forth, ask Him to come closer to You and He will…

alisa May 21, 2009 at 4:35 am

I agree with Kevin. Danny’s death may be serving a higher purpose than his life. I was so fortunante to see Danny (live) and I was so moved by not only his talent but his mention of family and his faith in God. While a lot of men are putting fame and fortune first Danny put God and Family first and I believe that is why he was so blessed with a wonderful career and a great family. You can say why did God let him die so early but I can say wow he was so blessed to have accomplished all he did and have the opportunities that he did. If you are focused on worldly things then you will miss all of the blessings that God wants you to have. A peace that passes all understanding that can only come from a trusting realationship with God. The things of this world will get old and pass away but the love of God is forever.I can’t help but be so amazed at God’s handiwork. A rainbow, the ocean tides, a sunset, a hummingbird, a rose, waterfalls, and those are just a few of his many wonders. No science book can explain all that. When I look up in ths sky at night and see that full moon or a big sunset that looks like a fireball in the sky I am in awe of his greatness. Ron I hope that you too will come to see his love for you and that through Danny’s death you might come to know Jesus who loves you already and is waiting for you to trust in him for all your needs. It will be the best decision you will ever make. I will pray for you.

Kevin May 21, 2009 at 1:25 am

First of all, there is no where in the bible that says that everyone who does not accept Christ will go to hell. What it does say is that those who reject Him will be rejected by Him. It also says that every man shall give account of himself to God. Romans 1 says that His eternal deity is visible in every aspect of the creation so they are without excuse. People who do not accept Christ are only accountable for what they did with what they knew. Davids writings are clear that babies who die are immediately with God. There is an age of accountability and Ron is past that age. Rejecting Christ once you know & understand is the dividing line for you. All of this Zeitgeist nonsense about Buddha & Krishna & Horus is absolute fallacy. None of these claims are found in the works of Buddha himself but are claimed by writers in recent times, mostly in the mid-1800′s. You are being fooled and guided down the path of deception yourself. True wisdom is found for anyone by “seeking the truth no matter what the cost”. Does someone need a doctorate to be a credible or knowledgable source? Absolutely not. Public universities have agendas as well, teaching students what to think rather than how to think. I’ve earned my stripes as well. The facts speak for themselves. Rather than bringing up a bunch of random and concocted facts about false deities that were never claimed by them, why not work to refute and debunk the actual claims of Christ Himself. Many have gone one that journey and found amazing proof of Christs existence along with the amazing accuracy of the bible itself confirmed moreso by the scriptures found at Qumran. Oh, and by the way, Jesus Christ is the only one who foretold of His resurrection and followed through with it which is confirmed by over 500 eye witnesses at the time. The writers of the bible lived in very religious times. The same people who executed Christ were looking for reasons to destroy the followers of Christ. The gospel accounts were written while eye witnesses were still alive and we have manuscripts from the very beginning that coincide with our translations today. There is true power in Jesus Christ which every true believer knows. Yes, man has perverted “religion” in just about every possible way, but that doesnt change who God is. Why is it easy to believe in no God when every atom responds to a design of order telling it what element to become? One religion clearly takes all responsibility for every aspect of creation and tells us the end of the story. Judaism/Christianity. Its no suprise you hate the truth but at least do us all a favor and really refute it. If you can prove that Jesus Christ is a farce, with facts and eye witness testimony, we would all like to know because we’ve all staked our life on it. Anything worth living for should be worth dying for. Christians don’t have all the answers. Jesus Christ is about a personal spiritual relationship. Man is about big religion with big buildings and celebate priests and popes. Jesus Christ spoke against the very spirit that now encompasses organized religion itself. Religion is for man. God is about spirituality.
Do us all a favor & put down the hate. If you were right, do you think that belittling & ridiculing & name calling would accomplish anything?
Perhaps getting the name of God in the forefront is why Danny Gans died. God desires a relationship with His free will creation. Yes, He is sovereign and no, He doesnt do things our way and doesnt ask our opinion, but maybe Danny Gans died so Ron could begin a search for God and come to know Him. Would God really do that? He’s God and knows the beginning from the end as He created time for us to have the opportunity to choose Him.

Ron May 21, 2009 at 12:03 am

Okay, let me get this straight. In your opinion what makes human beings different from animals is that they have a soul. How do you know that? Oh, that’s right — it’s in the Bible. The same Bible written by superstituous ancient men without doctorates and college degrees attached to their names, correct? Also in your opinion, every human being who doesn’t accept Jesus Christ as their saviour is going to hell. Including the innocent babies dying of starvation in third world countries who have never HEARD of Jesus Christ. Catholicism has a special limbo thigy place for those ignorant starving, dying babies to go. It’s called purgatory. Has born again Christianity invented a place for these poor innocent souls to go when they die as well?

Juicy May 20, 2009 at 10:09 pm

Ron,

To answer your question about dogs, cats, pets and bugs…we as humans have a soul where they would not. As for Jesus proclaiming He is the Son of God…he did many times over in the Bible. We are saved by God’s grace, when he sent his Son Jesus to die on the cross for our sins…that is the difference between Christianity and all the other religion’s. We don’t believe that you go to hell, for eating meat on Friday’s…we believe in God’s Word…The Bible. Their are people who choose to believe and follow Satan…are you also mocking them? Do you believe that Satan is real and God is not? Both are real and you are being fooled by one of them. You need to do some reading and soul searching to find out what you really believe. Things can be said in jest…but when it comes down to your last breath I pray that you have found an eternity with our Saviour.

Ron May 20, 2009 at 5:00 pm

Very well put. I had enough of that Catholic crap — mind CONtrol and obviously sexually frustrated priests and nuns, while attending years of parochial school myself. Go to hell because you ate meat on Friday? Puh-leeze — who determines that? The bishops, the cardinals, and the Pope?? Did Jesus say that? No more than he ever said that he was the son of God. His followers said that on his behalf AFTER he was dead. And another thing for you born again Christians out there. Where do you draw the line? Man is just a higher form of animal … so do your dogs, cats, pets, and the bugs you step on go to hell because they didn’t accept Christ as their saviour? Answer me that one.

Carrie May 20, 2009 at 12:26 pm

No use in arguing over religion! Religions are ALL based on faith, period. If you choose to believe in a higher power, believe and don’t care what others say. If you question your own faith and beliefs, yes, what Ron is saying may in fact bother you. Please, I don’t need prayers…had enough of that attending Catholic school for 12 years :) I will be okay after death simply because that will complete my circle of life…. that is all I need to know!

Ron May 20, 2009 at 11:58 am

Yes that’s right,Carol. Nobody knows what happens after death until they experience it for themselves. That’s a friggin’ FACT! Nobody wants to die permanently, so primitive man made up a way for himself to be eternal. Gods and goddesses were created by ANCIENT man to explain away the things that he did not understand. SCIENCE is much more experienced in doing that. Did the writers of the Bible have years of schooling and doctorate degrees attached to their names? Don’t think so. They believed in the supernatural — gods and demons and witches and warlocks. They had about as much education as a prehistoric caveman by today’s standards.

Carol May 18, 2009 at 4:48 am

“Nobody knows what happens after death until they experience it for themselves. PERIOD.” Well, then it is too late, and then the choice one has made will have eternal consequences–eternal life or separation from God. He has given us a free will, so the choice is ours.

BJ May 17, 2009 at 10:32 pm

you are all so lame.
DANG I wish I had caught a Danny Gans show when I had the chance!! so young… i’m sad for his fam :(

Ron May 17, 2009 at 10:10 pm

‘Scuze me — but there are umpteen hundred religions or more around the world that we know of. They all have their own gods and goddesses. Jesus is just one of many, so he needs to stand in line with the rest of them. Being right or wrong about the belief in an afterlife just shows the absurdity of faith. I repeat — FAITH IS BLIND!! NOBODY KNOWS what happens after death until they experience it for themselves. PERIOD.

Carol May 17, 2009 at 5:56 pm

Ron, “There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is death.” Proverbs 14:12. Suggested reading: The Case for Christ by Lee Strobel, a former aetheist; also, How Good is Good Enough? by Andy Stanley. You mention Tammy Faye Bakker. You don’t want to find out that she was right, and you were wrong. Speaking of her “knocking at the door” reminds me of this: “Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and will dine with him, and he with Me.” Revelation 3:20. Christians are not perfect. Only Jesus was and is perfect, but when we believe in Him, God looks on us and sees not our imperfections but the righteousness of Christ. Ron, I will be praying for you to open your heart to Jesus. He will change your life and your heart. God bless you.

Ron May 17, 2009 at 11:44 am

Oh, is this discussion about Danny Gans? Seems he got lost in the shuffle. Get it? Vegas — shuffle — cards … Ha,ha. Knock Knock — Hello, Jesus — are you home? Knock, knock, knock … hello? Jesus — are you there??? Knock, knock, knock, knock, knock …..

J Ann May 16, 2009 at 3:38 pm

Megan, I agree with you WHOLEHEARTEDLY!!!!!!!!

megan May 16, 2009 at 2:13 pm

How sad that some non-believers use a site dedicated to remembering a loving, moral, decent human being like Danny Gans to spew their vitriol. They can choose to believe or not to believe in God, but take your hatred to another site. Danny deserves all the love and respect we have to offer him on this site. He was truly loved by all who knew him. He was a good man. Las Vegas was so blessed to have him among us.

Ron May 14, 2009 at 1:05 pm

Right on. And MONEY is also the answer as to why there will never be a definitive end all cure for cancer, AIDS, the common cold, or any other disease that creates big business and employs millions.
I have visions of the ghost of Tammy Faye months and months after her death standing on a cloud knocking on the gates of “heaven” still waiting for Jesus to open the door. “Hello, Jesus … are you there? It’s me,Tammy Faye. Hello, Jesus …. hello … hello???….”

Bart May 13, 2009 at 6:35 am

Praise the lord and pass the collection plate! MONEY is the answer to why anyone would want to continue the belief in the bible.

Ron May 11, 2009 at 12:19 pm

It’s much more productive to debate the existence of intelligent life elsewhere in the universe. I, for one, most definitely subscribe to the probability of that being a fact.
Either there IS intelligent life elsewhere in the universe, or there ISN’T.
Either answer boggles the mind.

Dominick May 11, 2009 at 8:33 am

Ron, mmmmm, let me guess. You were educated at Cambridge, and read your doctoral dissertation on theological ambivalence in the post modern era, yes? And I’ll also bet that you were most certainly on the debate team, where you roundly trounced your opposition by calling them ‘morons’ and arguing that ‘opinions are like ashles, everyone’s got one’ also correct?

Unfortunatley Ron, there are highly educated individiuals who have spent their entire professional careers struggling to come to terms for or against your position with serious, academic debate. I doubt calling them ‘morons’ would really affect the argumet one whit as to such a profound issue of whether God, and faith is or isn’t valid. Don’t you?

FYI, you might want to consider Anthony Flew’s *There is a God: How the World’s Most Notorious Atheist Changed His Mind*. If you don’t know Flew, he certainly was no moron, but considered among the 20th century’s most outspoken and intellectual atheists, on par with Camus, and probably the atheistic equivalent in his passion of St. Thomas Aquinas.

Flew, after a lifetime of study, was ‘forced’ to conclude that his belief in atheism was illusory. For Flew, all paths led to the reality of a “God”.

My point: the debate about God and faith goes well beyond message board flaming and personal attack.

Paula Mooney May 10, 2009 at 8:04 am

Ron May 10, 2009 at 1:44 am

Jesus save me from the Christians!

Ron May 10, 2009 at 1:40 am

There may or may not have been a historical Jesus, but he never proclaimed himself to be the “Son of God” — his followers did that on his behalf. LONG after he was dead. If Jesus Christ was alive today, he would be SHOCKED that he was even remembered 2,000+ years after his death — let alone that he is being deified as the “Son of God.” The Bible was put together by individuals who by today’s standards, had about as much intelligence and foresight as a prehistoric cavemen. Incidentally, the Bible was plagiarized from the Book of Buddha written ages and eons before that, and coincidentally, Buddha ALSO had twelve disciples. GIVE ME A BREAK!! This is all it takes to convince you that there is life after death???
The only beneficial purpose religion serves in today’s world, is to keep most of the civilized population in check. If people knew for sure that there was no afterlife of eternal reward or eternal damnation — their morals would fly out the window, and crime and debauchery would prevail worldwide.
My last input on this topic is — that it is pointless to discuss and debate religion with anybody, because it all boils down to a matter of conflicting faiths and beliefs and opinions. Faith is BLIND, and opinions are like a$$holes — everybody’s got one.

Dito what Ron Said!!!!!

Theresa May 8, 2009 at 5:47 pm

To Ron:

Obviously you’re not only an atheist, but you’re an UNEDUCATED atheist. While Jesus Christ may or may not by the “saviour,” he is a bit more “real” than the Easter bunny. You can read about the “man” in a little book called the “Bible.”

Oh and as for Santa Claus, actually he DID exist. Our modern day Santa Claus has his roots in St. Nicolas who was a man who really did exist. He gave little children who were in need gifts.

So, while you are more than entitled to believe in a supreme being or not I think you make yourself look like a moron by stating “with authority” that Jesus was as real as Santa Claus or the Easter Bunny.

To the Gans family: My thoughts are with you at this sad and trying time in your life. Though, I cannot imagine the loss you are suffering I do know a little bit about the shock you’re living. My father died in 1995 at the dinner table..talking one moment and dead the next. 14 months later my mother laid down to sleep and never woke again. I found her dead in her bed, and we’d just spoken at 11pm the night before. So, I know how it feels to have someone you love taken from you in a blink without not so much as a “good-bye.”

I had the following verse printed on the funeral cards for my mother, maybe this verse will give you some solace:

If I should leave this world without a warning, and not even wisper a fond farwell, Grieve not for one more message from the lips that God has stilled. But just remember me with love and pray for my soul’s jouney to that fair land beyond life’s tears. for I have believed with all my heart in its existence., and I know that God is good. It may be lonely, and I hope you miss me just a little, because I have loved so deeply my own family and faithful friends. Forgive if I have ever hurt you, and remember me for what I longed to be. Have faith that I am nearer than your dreams and fondest longings. For the God of Love shall keep all kindred spirits close together, thoughtt he misty veil between this world and the that to come keep us from each other’s sight for a few precious moments. Whisper softly that you love me and it shall linger on within my soul until you come. Say not good-bye for on some bright tomorrow
WE WILL MEET AGAIN.

You damn Christians are so naive and stupid, you’re all on a par with the Jihad idiots who believe they’ll get a slew of virgins in heaven after they implode themselves with a suicide bomb. Religion has been the root cause of EVERY major war that’s been fought on this planet. All religion and their gods are manmade fantasy and wishfull thinking, invented by primitive characters eons ago. Nobody wants to die permanently — but sadly we all do. And praying to Jesus Christ and accepting him as your “savior” isn’t going to make one damn bit of difference. Pray all you want … no one is listening. Face it — Jesus Christ is about as real as Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny, and the Tooth Fairy. Why is it so taboo in this day and age to shuck the final fairy tale — belief in an afterlife?

Sam – I’m not a practicing Christian, but one could make the argument, why did God allow his own Son to be tortured on the cross 2000 years ago at the age of 32? But I think the point of Christianity—and all the great religions—is about eternal *spiritual* life. The time we have here is temporary. Our bodies are on loan and anything can happen. Christianity doesn’t promise that people who follow it will live a healthy, happy life forever. Material life comes and goes, and we are material beings. If Mr. Gans was truly a Christian, then he is—if you believe in the tenets of Christianity—in eternal life now and we are the unlucky ones.

Danny died because he was human; he accepted Christ as his savior and therefore has eternal life. I used to not understand faith and acceptance of tragedy, but now believe God does have a plan for us, but we are human. Illness, violence and death are human ventures. But why not have someone to pray to who accepts you as you are, whatever life stage you are in….unconditionally. And try to walk in ways that are Christ-like? (who did not judge…, which is something I personally pray about).
I’m by no means eloquent, and I’m sure others may be able to explain better…
Prayers for comfort to his family, and fans; rejoice!

Just hazarding a guess as a medical student, but sounds possibly like a pulmonary embolism based on symptoms of shortness of breath, respiratory collapse and suddent death. Will have to wait for the autopsy report to be sure.

I have suffered from ventricular tachycardia; referred to as a sudden death syndrone.I was fortunate to be a survivor. If he was asleep at the time it would be alot more dangerous.
I also suffered from a cold prior.

I’m sending my prayers and warm wishes to Danny Gans family… his wife and children.
I had only heard of Danny and seen him briefly on different tv shows. Even the small amount I saw showed a brilliantly talented man. I am glad that he was so spiritual. I truly believe that God blessed him with all this talent.
I am hoping to be able to find several videos of him on the internet, so I can see more of his performances.
Again, my condolences to his family and friends. I hope they will give him a memorial with a great send off!
God bless Danny Gans and his wife and children!

ok, didn’t know really about his faith in God,, only when he spoke to Larry King he said he prayed with his wife about the move to LV. Then I read above , the media has not said anything about his faith. They always seems to leave some like that out, you know it might offend someone. However, thank God he is in heaven, in a better place. Still we are sad for his family, but one day they will all join him. He was I read a good witness, his dash will always be memorable.

Look to his bio family’s health; is father, brother(s), uncle or uncles still alive, and if not what die from, and if alive, what is their health. This is not so surprising if you take a HEALTHY complete look at his background. come on

I saw Danny Gans in his last performance Wed. night. I was so moved by his profession of his faith during his show in a town where most don’t believe in God. I was so moved that I prayed for him during the show. When my husband and I left all we could talk about was how great it was that a Godly man was using his gift for the glory of God. We were so sad when we woke up Friday morning to the news of his sudden death but we also knew he was in Heaven. Later we learned that was his last show and that he had read a passage of scripture before the show to his band and then prayed. They said he prayed before every show. I am so grateful and thankful God allowed me to see and experience this Godly man’s gift. We serve an awesome Savior, Jesus Christ and I am thankful for the witness Danny Gans was and will continue to be!
