I just watched the new, extended trailer for Chris Rock’s upcoming Good Hair movie — and it looks like such good fun. Good Hair is a trip.
With black stars like Salt and Peppa and Megan Good and others admitting to wearing weaves and extensions, Good Hair will blow the box office take away the weekend it opens. And Chris Rock exposes the danger of relaxers, showing how a relaxer can eat away the an aluminum can, so no wonder I don’t want to put another one in my hair:
Peppa talked about how the relaxer burned her skin, and that’s how her famous asymmetrical hairstyle was born.
I admit, I’m one of those black women that keep the black beauty shops in business.
Right now I’m braiding teeny tiny micro-braids in my natural hair and sealing them off with a fusion iron that’s working well.
But I’m not using Indian hair: I’m using the synthetic hair that seals with heat — hair that I got from Wal-Mart for only 50 cents (hey, where’s the cents symbol on my keyboard?) a bag.
