Buy a RedBox Machine Franchise – RedBox Says Business Owners with More Than 15,000 Customers Can Buy One…

Buy a RedBox MachineI just love the little RedBox video rental machines near the Giant Eagle grocery stores here in Akron, Ohio.

Last night I rented Hotel for Dogs for our whole family to watch. I turned it back in this morning then picked up Bishop TD Jakes’ Not Easily Broken movie that I’ve been wanting to see.

Cost? Only $1.07 per movie, if you turn them in on time.

Where can I buy a RedBox machine franchise?

That’s what I thought when I finalized my rentals, so I came home to Google it.

Finally, I discovered on RedBox’s website at RedBox.com under their How to Get a RedBox section that they do have a form that business owners serving at least 15,000 customers can complete online to possibly get a RedBox machine installed near their stores.

Cool.

But whether this is an outright purchase of a RedBox machine franchise or what kind of money split is offered by RedBox — a company out of the lovely Oakbrook Terrace, Illinois — I don’t know.

I wonder how much those machines cost? I wonder how much income they take in, based on the foot-traffic of the location.

Very interesting…

I would love to know about how to buy a RedBox Machine. I am actually trying to get it down in Brazil, where I am from, but I need a lot of information on how to do it. Can anyone help me with that?

Call McDonald’s, headquartered in Oak Brook, IL. Redbox in OakBrook Terrace, IL is a subsidiary of McDonald’s. They own all the equipment & simply pay you a lease.

I would like to own or administer a red box. How would go about doing so? Would I have to purchase the box or the dvds or both?

And how much would it cost me?

You can’t “buy” a redbox machine. Nor do they offer franchise programs. Coinstar, after buying out McDonald’s stake in Redbox, owns and operates every single Redbox machine. Local people who maintain Redboxes on-site are employees of Redbox; Not independent contractors or franchisees.

The only way you can have a Redbox at your location, is if you lease or own a location with heavy amounts of foot traffic (like 10,000 or more in weekly foot traffic). What Redbox will do is possibly set up a lease agreement with a location owner for space in their store. Redbox won’t cut a percentage of their sales with the property owners. But at most, offer to pay competitive rent for the location. But they will maintain, operate, supervise, and own the Redbox kiosk.

If you don’t own or lease a heavily trafficked location, there is no way you can get a Redbox.

can you be a middle man and look for businesses with a large customer base and make a contract with redbox along with a busniess owner to open up a redbox and make a percentage?
