Yeah, I probably haven’t spelled out that whole drama yet, but suffice it to say that I’m finally learning the value of money — and not to throw stuff willy-nilly on credit cards. Because I can’t right now for some of them. And I don’t want to ever again.
I’ll probably throw all those lessons into the next Kindle book I plan to write that details my rising Kindle earnings — I’ve been thinking about popping another one out this weekend, but I’ve been writing quite a bit for freelance jobs I got via Elance, so we’ll see.
My estimates peg them at $650 in royalties for the month of July 2013, and seeing as though it’s very thrilling to simply take a weekend (like I did last weekend) and turn my collected notes across various Word documents into the Skin Bleaching book that I desired to write so strongly that I kept going until it ended up as a pretty thick tome, as far as Kindle editions go, I believe those estimates will go up to $1,000 per month and beyond — like that couple who saved their $1,200-per-month home and paid the mortgage with their Kindle earnings after publishing 20 books in six months and barely leaving their home:
The story was inspiring all the more. Not that I write erotica — I think the “Wilders” books are naughty, says the video title — but the Kindle income part of it was inspiring. One million books sold ain’t bad.
I’ve seen several testimonies of people making money selling bunches of their Kindle books, and it makes sense, seeing as though Amazon is such a large platform that allows people to find our writings. I’m beginning to think of Amazon as a big old blog whereby our “blog posts” are actually Kindle books, hidden behind a pay wall.
I like to go with my gut regarding the next books to write, but I’m seriously thinking of making the next step a book that spells out the tricks I’ve learned to increasing Kindle book earnings, like writing under pen names, researching titles quite thoroughly and gauging interest before you even publish anything.
From Word Document to Kindle Book, and all the other stuff I updated this weekend…
That’s one reason I wrote the book about skin lightening, seeing as though my Yahoo article titled “Why I Stopped Bleaching My Skin” consistently received around 1,000 views per month — making it one of my most popular on the Yahoo website.
The audience was there and I had more to say about the subject — plus, knowing how to go “From Word Document to Kindle Book” is an amazing skill to possess, allowing folks who have Microsoft Word to just run with it and become a published author on Amazon literally overnight, if they’d like.
I spent extra time updating both that book and my other best-seller about using Amazon’s “Cover Creator” to make free Kindle book covers, so I felt fine raising the prices of both books, since they now contain even more great info.
I’m keeping my eye on the sales numbers of those two books especially going forward, and in my long list of writing tasks, I plan to toss in a wonderful resource about how to make a fast income with Elance, since typically those writing jobs tend to pay faster than waiting on Kindle royalties, which takes 60 days — as long as you make more than 10 bucks.
Either way, the Kindle income is helping with longer term credit card payments, and the Elance freelance writing jobs are helping with some bills and daily needs. Bless God for all of them. Let’s pray Amex has all their monies owed paid in full soon…from my fingers to His ears, in Christ’s name.
